New to Busse! SFNO ?s

Hey everyone! I've been researching and following the Busse forums for a while now and decided to finally get my first one. I tried (unsuccessfully) to get an Ash in the ganza but what I really want is a SFNO! Being knew to the community I'm not familiar with when or how often new or re-released knives circulate on their website. I'm hoping to order one after the holidays and I'm thinking ordering one through the custom shop is my best option. Also I was wondering roughly how comparable getting a knife through the custom shop is compared to similarly sized and finished blades available on their website price wise. Really I'm just looking for more information and any advice or insight into my situation would be very appreciated!

Are you wanting a SFNO or NMSFNO? There may be one on the exchange.

When it comes to custom shop orders your best bet is to email Garth and let him know what you're looking for. He'll let you know what blanks they have and you can go from there.

call them/email Busse custom shop on Monday and see what they have available, or just hang around the sales forum until it pops up......btw if you don't already know there is an sfno and nmsfno (updated version of sfno).
 
Usually the direct prices, even CS, are better than secondary market prices.

If you go with the custom shop you can pick EXACTLY what you want, this is a major plus , I can all bet you will end up buying on the secondary while you wait for your custom shop order.
 
Yes, welcome. A wealth of knowledge here from folks much longer in the game than we are. I enjoy watching the BF Exchange for knives to purchase. Seems to be more of a sporting contest than just ordering what you want. And don't worry, you will probably purchase more than one (or sixteen!?), Bussekin, and what you decide not to keep can be re-sold here. Enjoy the hunt!...Cheers.

The SFNO is an amazing blade in hand. I had the opportunity to buy several of these but couldn't at the time, no regrets :rolleyes:

Wow, sweeet slivers of bacon! ..and knives.

How (in your opinion) do the grinds differ in performance, balance and weight?
 
That day I compared the Satin saber / black MAG G10 slabs to the CG Saber black blade / Tigerhide standard slabs and it was night and day. both felt great but also felt like different knives in hand.
I'm a big fan of standard handles but that Satin black g10 mags SFNO was calling me, it was the perfect knife to me, balance, feel, ergos.
Saber grinds all day long for me
