Hi guys

Busses are new to me,i have been thinking about getting one,but before i do
could you guys direct me to some links where i could find info, pict.and specs.
can you buy direct from Busse or do you have to go through a dealer, and i know you can also get Busses here on BF,how can i get an idea of what the used market price are?i am thinking of a 6 to 8" blade with no coating, what would you suggest?
thanks

There are a couple on the exchange for sale right now at very fair prices.

Hi Marc, Welcome to the world of impending poverty. ;)

If you check out the stickies at the top of the page you will see one with just pictures and others with how Busse does business. The bussecombat link at the top of the page will take you to their site. Right now the Badger is being sold with expected deliver in a few months. As far as used prices do a search on the trading forums should get you a good idea on what they go for.

Good luck.

thanks guys, the Bussecombat site only list 2 badgers, what about larger blades?is there any other place you can buy new?
Marc

Try the Busse Company Store http://www.bussecompanystore.com. They have some short swords available which are bada$$ and some small "game wardens" if you are severely lucky. Other than that, a blade with the specs you are looking for may be the next Busse offering; the 15th anniversary blade Steel Heart 1. Or something like that. Good luck on your quest!

The Badger is the only "new" knife that Busse is selling right now. If you want a larger knife you will either have to wait for Busse to come out with its next knife after the Badger or hit the exchange. I just looked in the exchange and there are a few right now for reasonable prices. The lightly used ones seem to hold their value really well and if you wait and look around a little bit a lot of the Busse knives that show up on the exchange are unused.

MAn if you can score a satin SFNO or an NO-E that has been satinized or bead blasted you would be set. Or the Limited Edition SJT. Each of these will run you approx. $500.00 and up but you will only need one. Oh you'll want more though. It is an addicition.

And as others have mentioned you can score a BATACLE at the main Busse Combat website for approx. $400 I think.

Wlecome to the forum bro. :thumbup.

Note: use the following link to make sense of all the acronyms you see.

This is the most recent knife that fits your criteria. It is called the SOW variant = Santa's Outlaw Wicked variant. It would now be available only on the secondary market.

I really regret not pulling the trigger on the SOW when I had the chance. Christmas made me a broke mo-fo.

Marc,
Welcome to the Busse forum, I'm glad that you stopped by.

Busse's production protocol is a sticky at the top of the forum, however, in short they produce/sell 1-2 knives at a time and then move on to the next model. If you miss the ordering window you then have a chance to buy at the Busse Company Store www.bussecompanystore.com or you'll have to buy on the secondary market.

When they are listed at www.bussecombat.com (the shop website) you can order any number of handle materials, colors etc so it is more of a custom order and you can choose what will fit your wants. If you wait you have to take what you can get. Take my advice, don't pass them up when they are available at the shop, you'll regret it later ;)

I hope this helps and that you stick around and join in our discussions

:D:D

I've seen a few SJ-TAC LE's for sale recently. That would fit your bill as well.

thanks guys forthe help,i am on the hunt,i saw that uncle mofoLE #2 for sale
here,very tempting!!!

Uncoated blades are hard to come by these days - only on the secondary market, limited editions, or special Extravaganza releases. If you're going to use it, many people have bought coated blades and stripped them (chemical stripper, sandpaper, belt sander, etc.). Bare steel doesn't look perfectly finished, but OK. If you have the skill and tools or want to find another knifemaker to do it, the blades can certainly be polished.

does anyboby knows what's the timeframe for delivery on the badgers?
except BF,what other places can a guy buy second hand Busses?thanks
Marc

just speculating, but i would say late april is the earliest. more likely some time in may.

as for other places? there is that auction site.......

I have purchased/traded on Knife Forums and USN. The latter isn't so easy any longer: You have to buy a membership to buy as well as sell.
