I have been carrying it since sunday and am really enjoying it alot.

Here are two Imperial knifes I won off Ebay.

the white one is from Maurice Share he was a knife designer/inventor and worked for Imperial in rhode island. it is from his personal collection in an estate sale. ( thats what was said on ebay)

the mini imperial is just one I thought looked cool, I have discovered that the holes are for a key ring like thing and Im am wanting to get more of these.... I think they are neat with how small they are.

I have a few more at home. I bought a winchester collector set with a gift card from christmas and dont plan on ever useing any of them.... I really like looking at all the knifes handeling them and keeping them clean and also woundering about the history of the older knifes.

There really is no point of this thread but to show off what I have collected here in the last month and a half. I do wounder tho what do you think of what Ive got so far? what other brand or style knifes should I take a look at? are there any other web sites to buy or trade older knifes? Ive started stopping at pawn shops when I have time to look and see if there is anything in there for knifes and went to a flea market/antique mall this last sunday....:D that and I know some of you guys just like looking at knifes.

Well a folksy welcome to our neck of the woods.
It looks like your on the right track.

I cant make out the markings on you grandpa's pen knife, could you tell us?

Peter

Always good to see pics of knives that folks have picked up...
I can't really think of anything to suggest for ya because there are so many different choices. Once you've been doin it a while, you will start to find what really interests you.. If your like most of us here, you will like em all :D
Enjoy....

I cant make out any of the markings either. Im blind as a bat and I tried zooming with my scanner and didnt really have good results... Im going to have acess to a magnifying glass this coming weekend so Ill try and see if i can make out anything.... and take an enlarged picture someo how too.

so far I really do like them all Im getting hooked quickly.

You may want to look at Schrade USA pocket knives, Old Timer series, I really enjoy collecting those. You will enjoy the quality right along with the price. Be careful to buy the knife, but not the story. When a seller is giving you more history than can be verified, they may have a false sense of value to the knife. Read some of Bernard Levine's threads on BF. It will put a slope on your learnin curve, as it did mine. Great info there.....Enjoy the ride, collecting is obsessive, and a great past time.

Hey Silverado, you've got some very nice knives there. Your gandads knife is a great one, looks like he got alot of use out of it. The Ka-bar is a jewel in the rough, great patina. It looks like it was somebodys daily companion for a long time. Rub some mineral oil or leamon oil into the bone handles to keep them from drying out and cracking anymore.

The old knives that have been carried and used are always the most intersting ones to me. Thier nicks and patina tell the stroy of how much they were valued by thier owners by being carried and used like they were intended to be.

Welcome to traditionals.

yeah I would really like to find an old timer like the two member 338375 picked up at a pawn shop. they look really nice!! I cant wait to come across one and as soon as I do Ill be sure to pick it up.

lol I had to look up what Patina meant.... but yes the patina really is very interesting!! you can deffinatly tell it has been used and I intend to deffinatly use it some more thats for sure!! the snap and sturdyness of the blades are amanzing IMO on the KaBar. Its like a brand new knife till you actually look at it. and thank you for the welcome

So is there any other places online to look for older collectable knifes other than ebay?
