Hi, I'll be honest, I'm not entirely new to any of the processes as it's my daily source of income that got me thinking and the tv shows, cuz really, who hasn't at some point in this line of work yelled at the idiots on Forged in Fire right? I also can't just proclaim to be able to do something, i always have to prove it to myself. But im gonna post a few pics of my every day forest machete . I don't know what ppl will think but thats what gets you known it seems. I'm really wondering about the copper plating i experimented with. Anyone seen similar fade of plating thx for your comments and opinions . I need to see if what i like is what others like, I'm kind of blinded to what's considered the style of today, cuz this is my 2nd ever blade, but I'm pretty sure nobody wants to see my first. Nor will it be possible after launching it to oblivion late one night. 6VCQIB

I can't see your image.

Just a thought about "style" for new makers:

Do not be so concerned with what other people think. You will never find YOUR style if you are always trying to chase what others like or market trends. Whatever you make there will be some people who like it. Since you can only make so many knives there will usually be a market for them. Generally speaking, because of the time and physical effort involved in making custom knives they are not hugely profitable, particularly for beginners. We continue to make them because we have a passion for making them and it is the outlet for our artistic drive to create. Spend your time learning to build practical, attractive (whatever that means to YOU), well-built and well finished knives. In the course of time your "style" will develop out of the direction your own tastes take you as well as the details you choose to include and through the quality of your work. Trying to search for some new thing that will get people's attention so you will get noticed is not the best game plan. You may find something that is unusual but it will be quickly forgotten or seen as a gimmick. Build your reputation based on well thought out designs built to exacting standards. That will get you noticed, respected and remembered.
