Howdy!

I'm new to high-end knives and especially CRK. I was shopping locally last week and saw my first Sebenza and fell in love with the engineering and design of the 21 - basic- small Insigno.

I have several fixed blade knives by Dylan Fletcher, Blind Horse Knives, Fiddleback Forge, PB&J, Arno Bernard, Bark River and Matthew Caldwell but previously have only owned 'cheaper' folders (predominantly Spyderco and Swiss Army Knives) Given that I live in MD where I have to carry the fixed blade fully exposed (no CCW for fixed blades) I was stoked to find such a nicely engineered piece as it is hard for me to carry a belt sheath given the urban area in which I live.

I found the forum, started lurking and reading and really just wanted to introduce myself -- and beg forgiveness for the basic, newbie questions which will inevitably be posted. I've a lot to learn and am already on the prowl for my next Sebenza. I really like the damascus blades... :)

Welcome; I look forward to all your acquisition pics. I myself am relatively new here, but have 4 Sebenzas already, 2 with Damascus blades :) Oh are they ever beautiful!

I LOVE the Insingo blade shape. Possible my favorite blade shape ever. CRK just know how to get every little thing perfect, though. I love all of their... everything. The regular Seb and Umnum blade shape is great as well. You definitely need a Large Seb, though, man. And DEFINITELY some Micarta. I feel so lucky to have the Ultimate CRK folder Grail, IMO, which is a Large Micarta Insingo. My favorite CRK ever. I just need to send it in to get the double thumb stud treatment.

Thanks - I've my eye on a small with micarta and a damascus blade - but sheesh it is $$$$ -- need a commission check before I can pull the trigger on it.

How are the damascus blades at sharpening and holding the edge? (remember - I'm new to high end knives so I'm still learning)
