Been doing lot of research with the help of a couple people who have lot of experience with CRK. I just ordered a 31 small insingo plain sand blast from Knives Plus. I kinda wanted the glass but couldn't find one available with plain scales. This will be my first CRK and am pretty excited. Next I know I want a 31 large drop point plain. I think the plain looks sleek. I'll get inlays at some point.

CPKs are my favorite fixed blades.

CRKs are my favorite folders. Fantastic choice and welcome... Enjoy that 31. Lots of cool options out there... I also favor the Insingo blade. It's just looks badass to me.

You can send that sand blast 31 back to the mothership for a glass blasted finish. Info is available on the CRK website, along with pricing. May be worth your consideration.

Welcome to the club. I think you'll be pleased.

(I (only) have seven CRK folders overall, and three of them have the Insingo blade. Terrific knives, all of them.)
E I was trying to get something you didn't have so I wouldn't have you looking over my shoulder on my posts. 🤣 . I'm trying to behave. However I’m easily amused and an instigator. If you didn’t know. 😁 It’s a gift.

Awesome. You made a good move going with the sand blast finish. I have the exact same configuration but in glass blast and after a few months I am wishing I could have found a sandblast finish. The glass blast is just too slick in the hand for me.

On the other hand…… you are now going to realize what all the hype is about. These are working knives that will last a lifetime….. don’t be afraid to put it to work!!

If you have a glass blasted, you can get it sandblasted. But a sandblasted that gets used for awhile ends up as smooth and slick in the hand. If you frequently need grippiness, I'd go with micarta inlays. If you want a more handsome knife, go glass blasted (My personal preference as I'm in a suit more often than not.) If you're hard using on the regular, and like the hard used look, go with sand blasting. Either way, welcome to the sickness!

What's a suit?

I've been contemplating for couple years to have my anniversary date inscribed on a knife. I know this limits sales but this would be one I wouldn't ever get rid of. Now that I got my first CRK I think I've made up my mind what knife to have this done. I've reached out to CRK and they offer laser etching for $50 plus shipping. Service time is 9-12 weeks which is ok as I've lived without it this long. I have the 31 small which is a perfect size to carry in my pocket. Other than don't do it what are anyones thoughts? We've been married 34 years in August. I know Blues Blues who would think anyone could manage to be around me that long. Well she is like the opposite of me. Super friendly and wants to please everyone. Me on the other hand...............as long as I please her and my girls.............yeah you know the rest. LOL

Congrats on the first CRK purchase, thats so awesome! You have opened up a worm hole that lead you down a fun/expensive path, but it's so worth it. Just come back to this thread when you have like 5-10 of them. They multiply, and rightfully so. Enjoy!

Welcome to CRK. They are kind of addicting once you figure out the blade shape you like and the scale blasting. It is easy to get carried away and by several. Enjoy using and maintaining them. They are a great company to deal with if you need any customer service as well.
