Cerberus,

Congratulations on your recent acquisition. I think you made an awesome first pick in the world of CRK products. However, you have seen only the tip of the 'craftsmanship iceberg'. Once you pick up your first Sebenza you will forever find yourself comparing others to it. Be warned though, once you get bit by the Sebenza bug there is no going back.
Good luck with future purchases.

with respect,

If you do consider a Sebbie look at the small Sebbies. They are great for EDC due to their size but still can handle virtually any cutting job as just well as the large Sebbies. My preference is for the regular design as opposed to the classic design but that is purely a personal decision.

It is good to have another place to hang around at. As far as the saw back, the teeth are not real agressive. I dont think I could cut thru anything real quick with it, but i am not sure that is the intended purpose. My logic and information may be askew here, but I will tell you what I have heard. The saw back is/was intended for notching and such for snares and trip-wires. This is what my cousin in the airforce related to me anyway.

Well at the chance of stepping in "it" - I believe the aviator's saw back was designed to cut through aircraft aluminum- for escape purposes...

It makes sense, being the Aviator and all. It is a stout blade for it's size. I have no doubt that it would punch thru the aircraft shell.

On a side note: I dropped the knife (and sick daughter)off at my parents house and showed the knife to my dad. He studied it for a while to see if he could find the blade/handle juncture common with hollow handle knives.I finally broke it to him.:D
