I'm new to the forum and Edgepro use. I recently picked up an Edgepro clone and have been heavily modifying it. Much longer and all parts will be replaced. The tool isn't my problem. My problem is technique. I'm able to get a very refined sharp edge with it. I'm having problems with sharpening the knife tip. It seems that at the tip of the knife once you've passed halfway across the width of the stone there is a tendency for the stone to rotate around the rod and change the bevel angle thus ruining the tip. Does anyone have a technique to keep this from happening?

Yeah. Just stop at half way.

Yup! Or, learn to control the stone, so as you approach the tip, you "lock it down" as it reaches half way, to keep it from rotating further. But stopping ½ way is usually the easiest and works the best.
