Hello guys,

Next week, I've got the chance to acquire myself my very first emerson for a really good price (from a friend)
I'm talking about the "Blackbird" model. (partially serrated, tanto, black blade)
I want my knife for EDC......(=not for killing ninja's ;) )

So...any of u guys use this or any similar model for EDC? How does it stand up to the task?
I'm also not gonna peel apples with it all the time...more like tough cutting, anything "hard use" :D

Really anxious to hear all stories....

Best wishes, Davy

The Blackbird is a very nice piece...the heavier duty version of the Raven.
Since you're going for a tanto...i might suggest the CQC7 with the Wave.

You won't go wrong with either, but I always prefer the wave feature when it's available.

I own a few blackbirds but the Emersons I carry tend to be either the CQC6 or CQC7. They will serve you well whether you use it to cut food, open boxes, or even in Self Defense.

imho the 'bird would be fine for edc use, i prefer the SOCFK myself, for tantos, but the 'bird is ok too.

thanks ya'll for ur replies!

Though...with pain in the hart i must admit that I fel for another knife, not an emerson :) I could get a used (so it said..but it didn't show) microtech LCC..and i went with that one

Overall, i handled the emersons...and i probably get one soon, since they are very highclass knives

see ya, Davy

whats this ? blasphemy? nah the LCC is another good one, i have had 3 M/A's and an auto too, nothing wrong w/a LCC imho.........
