New to ESEE

I normally hang out in General and Traditional. But last night I bit the bullet and bought an Izula with slabs from Derrick. Hopefully Parker doesn't mind, but I went with the same color combination that he has here:

I'll post my own pics once the mailman brings it.

Why pink? Because deep in my heart, I think two things--1) My wife will probably steal it and 2) I certainly won't lose it in the leaves.

I did a lot of thinking around this purchase. Scandi knives were calling to me real bad, but after a few hours on Cloudberry and Ragweed Forge, the call for a scandi started to be replaced by the call for a stout, practical, all-around, full-tang necker. The Izula seemed to fill my desires nicely.

But what next? Where else might this ESEE experience lead me? (Is it pronounces "ess-EE"? And what's a Ratpack number?

hi and welcome. the izula is a great little knife much more usefull than you would think from the specs.

a ratpack number is just a number, after you have 25 posts in the esee forum you can request a number. makes it a bit easier to register for giveaways.

Hey Chewy. Oh Oh now ya done it. As soon as you see how well that little one works, and holds its edge, I bet you're gonna want another one. I now own 2 esee's, a a junglas and a 6. I've been cuttin with them every weekend for over a month, the Junglas two. And I still don't need to take either one to my stone! Its hard to get one of these to get dull. *A very good problem in my mind* enjoy edgy

I should get my pack # soon then I want the logo. (almost as cool as the blades)
 
Thank you for the welcome. I currently own a Fallkniven S1 that will be paired with it for now. Of the ESEE knives, the 4 appeals to me the best...after the Izula. But for now, the S1 will be enough.
 
An Izula is an awesome tool regardless of color. What next? Im sure something in the lineup will call your name. Welcome ablade..aboard.

Of course your wife will steal it, so next thing you'll be doing is: ordering another one + a 4 to go with it ;)
 
Welcome to the forum - the Izula is the "Gateway Drug" to having a substantial collection of all sorts of things with ESEE logos on them.

There is a sticky thread with details on how to get your RatPack number in the top of the forum thread list. There is no rank here... we all listen to Mrs S or suffer the consequences.
 
Oh, I've heard of Mrs. S. She sells orange ESEE underwear with patches on it, if I understand right, right?

"Gateway drug"?! Man, I hope not. I've got kids to feed and put shoes on. But I could definitely see myself getting a couple more of the Izzies down the road.
 
im new here also i want the esee 4 real bad and the izula looks sweet too ! on the rat pack number you need 25 useful post not just 25 filler post under your belt before you can get one.

she does a whole lot more than that. she takes care of all us wayward children. keeps coming up with cool logo gear, helps moderate the forum, helps run most of the contests, and generally is one of the most helpful people on here. she and mike also help jeff and mike p. at blade and the shot show.
