I'm relatively new to collecting and ESEE. I started out with a few BRKTs, Fallknivens, and Moras. After coming across bladeforums and seeing ESEEs reputation, I decided to try them. Last week I received an Izula and an ESEE-4. I am very impressed with these knives and am itching to get to the woods with them.
My father and I have always had "show and tell" with our new stuff. A couple of months ago I showed him my BRKT Bravo 1 and he fell in love with it to the point that I let him keep it. I was visiting him last night and asked if he was still liking the Bravo 1. "It's the best all around knife I've ever had", he said. I pulled out the ESEE-4 and let him get the feel of it. Within five min. he was wanting to trade for the ESEE. It wasn't going to happen. I just wanted to share this and thank you guys for turning me on to a great knife company. I'm already itching for a Junglas. My wife is going to kill me.

Playing "Gear Show And Tell" with Dad can get expensive. Generally if one of us buys something, the other will want one and goes and guys one. Bright side is Christmas shopping for my Dad is quite easy. :D

Welcome aboard!

GET THE JUNGLAS! You will not be disappointed. It was my first ESEE purchase and boy howdy! You simply can't beat a big blade when it comes to many tasks. Everything good you hear about it is true. You simply are not going to be able to do serious Bushcraft without it. Small knives have there purpose but they utterly fail at the big tasks required in many situations.

That sounds awesome, I wish I had someone to play show and tell with. I usually just talk my girlfriend's ear off and she doesn't understand anything that I say.

Welcome...

Take a look at the RC6 its a damn sweet knife.

Sound advice. You might also look into a set of custom G10 scales from Dale at The Knife Connection for your ESEE 4 if it isn't already wearing a set, they really improve on the feel of the 4 IMHO.

Well if you give your dad the 4, gives you an excuse to get another, then another, and another and another. The cycle continues...... :D

The Junglas is huge! I'd suggest the 6 first, but I've never handled a Junglas so I don't know.....

Welcome! Glad to see you like the brand. Great, simple knives. They are definitely in the top two favorite knife-makers of mine.

Welcome. I would say start small with the Izula and work your way up. If you stay with the forums, your going to get them all anyway.

I am like you, started with one now I am pretty sure I can come up with a use for and justify all of them. Now if only the wife will get on board. She has been pretty good with my gun buying habits lets see if she comes around and sees the need for multiple knives.

My wife is the opposite, she flipped when she saw the SIG 556 I bought myself for Christmas, but she ordered me an ESEE 6 for Xmas. She did ask me why I needed so many knives when she found my stash though. :D

the esee-4 is indeed sweet...the junglas would be a perfect companion to it. the sheath is by far the best i've seen too. welcome to the forum!

That's why these forums exist. I don't talk to my wife about all my knives. Only the kitchen ones, but they are sweet knives that we both use. Just be glad that she listens to you, that would be a definite +1 in my book. Take care.

Hi,
I just bought a ESEE 6, my first ESEE, from a little town in Alabama. A great price, and from a Seller with great feedback on eBay. I'm very excited to see what this thing is all about...

This company is new to me, so I was just wondering... is there a Kydex sheath available for the ESEE 6, or is there one in the works?

Welcome JFhasson!

Enjoy the forum:thumbup:, Quality group of friendly people here.

The knives are Ok too:D

Edit: Hey HighwayChild, the 6 has a plastic molded sheath from the factory, you can get a custom kydex sheath made by one of the many custom sheath makers on the site.

Like Shotgunner11 for example>>>www.doublebarrelsheaths.com

I'm sure I'll love the sheath That comes with it, but the kydex options like Shotgunner has are pretty cool. Seems ESEE would've put out kydex choices as well. It's the blade that I'm really interested in anyways.

We go with injection molded poly or Kydex but not both. If the sheath is injection molded there are so many custom makers for Kydex it usually isn't a problem finding one. If I can choose I will go with the injection molded sheath every time just because they outlast and outperform Kydex. But we do use both materials just to fit our manufacturing needs at the time of release on any given model. If you cannot find a custom maker here look around on Blade Forums and someone will help you. Mike

I too just finally got on board (registered as well)...but with the ESEE-3. For some reason I didn't realize it came as the LE version with the double sided blade. It's ok...I think I've easily talked myself into liking it more this way. And now I can justify buying the next one. Either a 4 or 5 I'm guessing. I love this thing. Sounds strange but when I saw Jeff's comment on "this industry is total BS" I knew I had to have an ESEE right away! Thanks for all the great info guys! Learning a lot.
