I've been looking at these two knives for awhile. I'm in the mood to buy a harder use knife that is also a folder. I have fixed blade hard use knives (Cold Steel, Scrapyard etc.) but I wanted to see what decently priced, not-over-the-top harder use folders are out there.

I came up with two knives to try out first but I can only afford one of them at this time. Benchmade 950 Rift PE and Zero Tolerance 200 PE. Rift is $115.00 and the ZT200 is $127.

ZT200:
# Overall Length (inches): 9.15 in.
# Blade Length (inches): 3 7/8 in
# Blade Material: 154CM stainless-steel with Tungsten DLC coating
# Blade Detail: Plain Edge
# Handle Material: 3D machined, G-10 in matte black
# Lock Style: Liner Lock
# Carry System: Pocket Clip
Weight: 7.7oz(?)

Rift satin finish:
Blade Length: 3.67"
Blade Thickness: 0.114"
Blade Material: 154CM Stainless Steel
Blade Hardness: 58-61HRC
Blade Style: Reverse Tanto, Ambidextrous Thumb-Studs
Weight: 4.80oz.

Thoughts, feedback? I've watched alot of the YouTube reviews and they left me wanting more actual use experience information.

Thank you.

No experience with the BM, but I do have a ZT200 and it IS a well made tank. Now, with increased durability, you give up some other things.....it is heavier than most and could be a bit large for some for EDC. Neither of these are an issue for me and I think it makes a great carry knife.....others may disagree. Also, check ebay before you purchase.....I ended up getting mine like new for $90.00.....perfect condition, but no box.
Good Luck,
JT

I've had a BM Rift, and I currently have 3 ZT0200's. The ZT0200 has to be one of the great deals in the world of knives! It is simply a heavy duty, heavy duty folder, oh, and it has a .157" thick blade. I have one of each style, and thats the reason I have three. I liked the Rift though and keep thinking I will get another one in the near future, but there are a few others ahead of it. BM markets it as a combat folder but I wish they would have done to it what was done to the 610 Rukus, that being a heavier duty build. A .150"-.160" thick blade, and double thick liners, which would end up at .080" thick would have been nice and would have ensured that I would currently have one.

ZT 0200 all the way. better ergos, blade shape (I like the blade shape, so personal preference) , the coating on the ZT is MUCH stronger than the BM, pointier tip on the 0200... etc.
