Well I finally did it,I no longer have to post under Terry's name. I wanted to do this on my B-Day but the forum was down. I'm just a few days late on getting registered. I hope you all don't mind having another girl on your forum. I have gotten to know several of you over the phone and there are alot of great people that post on this forum. I read the forum daily ( I have to confess sometimes 2 or 3 times a day) I know there is no hope for me I'm hooked!! I look forward to all the new posts, more info. and getting to know everyone.

Sandi

Welcome Sandi,
I know you joining the forum will certainly add a lot of class to this gang.
How are you going to decide who wears the khukuri in the family and what are you going to do when the kids want one?

Good! Someone to make the coffee and bring more mugs of beer.

Just kidding Sandi. Back when I worked for State Welfare there were 10 people in the office and I was the only male. The other nine, the females, always brought the flowers they got send by to show me that delivery at least wasn't for me. To remind me that they ( all 9 put together ) still got the other 40-45% of the flowers delivered to the office.

To keep this knife related, I started carrying a knife again one day after the office manager called me in and asked if I had a knife on me. When I told her I didn't, she turned to another lady in the room and asked "What good's a man without a knife?"

Sure you can trust the government. Ask any Indian.

John,
The kids already have khukuris. Chrissy got her first village khukuri for her 10th B-day and another besides. Sarah also has two but T2 likes to try to get his hands on his dads. It's definately a family thing.
I'll let Terry be the one to wear the khukuri in the family as long as he keeps his hands off my B-day khukuri!
Oh, Rusty I do make a pretty good cup of coffee.

Too bad Terry made y'all set in the car the day you came down.

Perhaps one of these days we can all get together and have a BBQ or something!?

Welcome, Sandi to our forum of degenerate khukuri aficionados

From what I see you have already passed the khukuri knut rite of passage, namely indicating the advanced nature of your HIKV and possess a good sense of humour as well.

Again, welcome!

Good for you Sandi.

I do the cooking in the family cause I've got the hungarian genes and panache, and my wife makes the coffee in the morning cause I don't make it out of bed ( I sit on the edge of the bed and stare til the first cup is empty ) til I need a refill.

Sandi and her husband, Terry, are old phone pals so she is not a stranger to me but welcome to the forum anyway.

I don't know about your coffee, Sandi, but if the candy you sent at Christmas is an indicator of the quality of your coffee then I'll take five or six cups everyday.

THANKS FOR THE WELCOME EVERYONE!! I feel right at home I'm already being teased.

Uncle Bill,
Fudge delivery in July or August. I will make extra for John, his girlfriend and kids ate all of his.

Yvsa, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you my back was out and it was easier to stay put. Little Terry was also asleep, "let sleeping kids lie." Nap time is one of my favorite times of the day. Maybe we'll see you again soon!!

Ove the river and through the woods........I'll bet it is a crazy time.

I have only three grandkids and, sadly, they live so far away I don't get to see them all that often.

Nothing soothes the nerves like a sharp knife in hand...

Well, I guess I never thought about uncle Bill being "grandpa Bill". Have your kids and grandkids been bit by the khukuri bug?

I guess I really don't know how to get your wife interested in khukuris. The first time Terry bought one I became interested. The thing that interested me even more than the knife was the people that make them. I have never been out of the U.S. and have never seen a place like this. It even becomes more real when you see them through the eyes of Bill and Yangdu they are very special people. Through their pics. and stories I am able to see this place that is a world away.
The people of Nepal may not be rich with money but it seems to me they are rich in so many other ways.
I guess Terry and I have always had simular interest though. We have been best friends since we were kids.
Good luck with the wife and if they really get interested, with you having 5 kids you may have to get a second job to support your addiction!!

THANKS FOR THE WELCOME!
