Hi, I'm Jackie and this is my first post in this forum. Also, I'm new in collecting Schrades starting around the first of May. The Schrade-Walden fixed blades are what I'm into.

Just wanted to say, "Hello" to everyone. Plus, I'll try to post a picture of one of the nine Schrade-Walden I have. Wish me luck.

G'Day Jackie and welcome you're amongst fellow Schradaholics. 9 Schrade Waldens since May 1st isn't a bad start!
Have you looked at Larry Vickery's <Lrv> Schrades R Us website which has heaps of Walden info? If you go to 'Collectors Corner' on that site you will see some excellent examples. In my corner Larry H Downunder you will see some varied Walden Fixed Blade examples, some from the original Schrade 'Wall' collection.
Good Luck! Hoo Roo from Oz.

Thanks for the welcome and the information.

Larry Vickery's site is where I did the majority of my research. Also, Larry is the one who directed me to this Forum. He is setting me up with one of those "Collector's Corner" where I sent him the pictures of my nine Schrade-Walden's. Larry, I've already looked at your excellent knives. Just plain fantastic knives.

Received a 142-L (10 now) in this morning's mail along with a mint Case Stag Boot Knife; another knife passion. Probably, try to take pictures of the 142L tomorrow and post it.

Again, thank you from the warm welcome and God "Bless".

Welcome to the forum!!
There is a lot of knowledgeable people here
I like your stand and blue backdrop/photo setup

I don't have any Waldens yet
I most collect fixed blades, but, the last 6 months or so I have taken a liking to pocketknives
Also
Don't forget to take pics of the SHEATH too
(If you have it)
I never really paid much attention to sheaths until I joined this forum

Trent,

Thank you for the warm welcome. I do have majority of the sheaths but normally don't take pictures of them.

I'm opposite. I started off collecting Case Sets in which I still do the Exotics. Then, into Case pre-2000 Stag Fixed Blades and pre-1970 misc fixed blades. Now, I'm into Schrade-Walden fixed blades. I really like them but the pre-2000 Case Stag Fixed Blades are still my first love. Today, I receive a mint new in the box 1988 Case Stag Boot knife. It's a gem.

Finished taking pictures of the Schrade-Walden 142-L. So might as well post a picture of it. Now, I'm up to ten with one still on order, a Ellenville, NY manufactured Schrade-Walden 141-L.

Now that brings up a question. The 141-L was advertised as a Ellenville, NY manufactured Schrade-Walden 141 The tang stamp looks the same as the others. How can you tell if it's a Ellenville, NY or not?

You have a great evening and God "Bless",

Welcome to the forum Jackie! I don't think you can tell the difference between the Ellenville and Walden made knives, Schrade continued using the Schrade -Walden tang stamp up till 1973 even though they moved from Walden to Ellenville in 1958.
