New to Hinderer - ID Question

I'm wondering what the area circled in red is called - and more importantly, what it means in regards to generations as it relates to certain knives. I've seen it on certain 3's & 3.5's and it appears to be on all 24's. Doesn't appear to be on most Gen 4 XM-18's, but now I'm just guessing.

That's your "Stop Pin".

On your 3.5's the move of the stop pin is what connoted a Gen 3 to Gen 4 evolution.
