Well I just bought my first Kershaw today, a Scallion. I have a question though. The "Needs Work" knife is pretty cool looking. I do not notice any type of thumb stud on it. I'm assuming that it has assisted opening. Is there a flipper on it? I could not tell from the stock pics how the knife functions. Thanks for any replies.
Also the Scallion I got was a bright blue handle with a black blade. I have not seen another one like it in all the sites I checked out. Is this an older discontinued knife or something new? I have never even held a Kershaw. From reading these threads it has really peaked my interest in what kind of knive they are. Can't wait to check one out. :)

The needs work is an AO knife with a nice big flipper. The scallion you bought is probably a new thing. Kershaw has just recently started doing alot of handle and blade combinations on the Scallion. If you look on the blade most Kershaws have a "born on" date. I love that black blade/ blue handle combo. Congrats on the nice knife.

Thanks for the info. The stock photos I have been looking at didn't give me an idea of a flipper. Yeah I really liked the black blade too. Can't wait to cut myself. :)
