Hi All,
Name is Mat and I am from North Idaho did not know where to post this but here goes. New to the forum and new to making knives just wanted to post some pics of one of my knives and see what some of the pros' thought.

This is La Petite Mort (The little death), with it's custom fitted wooden sheath.

Overall Length: 8 3/4"
Blade Length: 5"
Handle Length 4 3/4"

Blade is 440c
Bolsters and pins are 304L
Handle and Matching sheath are Jabota (Brazilian cherry wood)

Thanks for looking and pointing out any flaws that you can see through the photos that are not real great

First welcome to Blade Forums.

In my opinion, you have done a remarkable job executing a fairly difficult knife design.
Your finish sanding needs quite a bit of work, but that shouldn't be difficult to improve upon.

Nice work, please share more of your pieces with us.

that name gave me a little laugh, (don't know if you know the 'other' meaning;):D) but I'm with Kevin here. You took on a pretty complicated design, (which to my eye flows very nicely) and did a good job of turning it into reality.
Not crazy about the wooden belt loop on the sheath though.

Good looking knife. Cool scabbard too.
You should try to attend the Boise Knife Show end of October. You would get to meet a bunch of the local knife makers. Seems to be a quite a few in Idaho and they are a pretty friendly bunch.

I like it. One comment is to clean the knife better before pics, without doing that you make it look like it has more flaws than it really does.

Welcome to Blade forums! hey nice first effort! what part of north Idaho? I grew up in Moscow. Yes, you should come to the boise show. You would benefit from coming to the show later this year. Lots of big makers that are willing to share techniques and information.

Thanks for the compliments and the advice. As soon as I posted the pictures and they were so big I realized that I forgot to wipe it down good before I took the pics live and learn. I am not to crazy about the sheath either but have not got down the leather work just yet. I am north of Bonners Ferry almost in Canada but just short. Thanks again for the compliments and advice.
