New to knife making

I made my first crappy knife about 2 weeks ago with very minimal tools and a lawn mower blade .... but I really enjoyed it! So I ordered me some actual 1084 and some real scales off Amazon so I could make something I can be proud of any tips before I get started?

Awesome thank you I was gunna buy my steel from admiral but I've heard mixed reviews and I was having a hard time finding anywhere else to buy materials so I just went to Amazon. I will definitely check them out!
