So I'm mostly a wood worker and somewhat of a wood turner. The other day I bought what looked like a homemade throwing knife in a junk shop for $1. I thought, I wanna make a knife. So I started grinding and shaping. The wife wanted this first knife so I tried to do my best as far as what no skills I had doing this. Lol I don't plan on getting into forging or anything like that, at least not right now. So I finished her knife, made my own finger guard out of some brass bar stock, I even silver soldered it and then topped it off with some antler scales from a box of antlers I have. Ok, so from that came a couple of skinner blades that I scaled and lastly is a Damascus blade I bought to make me a personal knife for myself. Used a burlwood on it. I know there are faults as my scales aren't getting close enough to my guards. My pin hole drilling needs a lot of help. Lol But this is what I have done in the last month. I already bought a couple more blades off the bay and plan on putting some nice scales on those for Christmas presents to my stepdad and brother n law. You can feel free to criticize, but I'm pretty aware of where I need a lot more experience in these. Lol Not sure if I'm gonna do too many more after the next two but ya just never know. I do have the bug to forge one someday but that will have to be down the road sometime.
First pic was the basic shape the throwing knife was in. Forgot to take a pic. Lol
