I just received my 18" Kumar Kobra (20" is/was out of stock). It is absolutely beautiful. Thank you again Yangdu for working with me. One question I have is I plan on putting my kukri in a wooden locked display case. Should I display my kukri in or out of it's sheath. I prefer out as the blade is gorgeous, and since the case will be closed and locked when not in use I don't anticipate much dust, dirt, humidity etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

All of mine are out.
This reduces chances of rust since there'll be no condensation moisture trapped around the steel for a long time.
Dust can be wiped off.

I'm also a big fan of out. Let them breath and pretty to look at.

The ones I don't use but admire I just wax the blade with car paste wax. I use Mcguires but don't think it really matters.

Protects, doesn't attract dust quite as much and of course makes them shiny and pretty.

Hey! Welcome to the "Stealth Shark" infested waters of HI. Hope you stick around and get to know the folks who hang out here. Don't listen to Bawanna too much as he's contagious and you MIGHT end up liking him. If that happens, take two aspirin and see me in the morning.

Dont listen too much to Doc Bookie either...Well Lest he pulls out his voodo dolls! I better clam up cause he already has one in my image:o Kobras are way cool! Light fast and still very capable of plenty of hard work and protection.
My house is air conditioned so no worry about keeping them in their sheaths. If you keep them in an outside shack or high humidty location then you might want to keep them out of their sheath but otherwise keep them stored however convenient. The wax idea is great way to store them as well as most inorganic oils such as mineral oil. Waxing is clean and doesnt attract dust but oil is easier and just depends on how regular you plan to use it. I oil my regular use blades in fact I just let them patina with sap and all kinds of crap. The are scratched all to heck and such but I still love em! They can always be restored to like new condition so I dont worry bout them too much.
Were not afraid of pics if you get a chance to post some. Welcome to the forum and family here! Docs a pretty dang cool dude for a corn patcher btw. Dont let him skeer ya;) less you see one of them dolls in your image. Then yor in trubble!
