New to Me 110 Question - 1972-1974?

I picked up a new-to-me 110. Two pins, three lines. Looks like it's 1972-1974? Overall it's in pretty good shape. Based on the seller's photos I was concerned about pitting on the bolsters, but they're simply discolored. The sheath is a bit beaten up, but should improve with a bit of TLC.

Question about the blade, though - the grind seems fairly 'soft' without a hard edge between the hollow grind and flat. The kick also seems to be fairly small - how much of the shape is factory vs. later?

I just took ownership of my grandfathers 110 and the blade looks very similar to yours. I know he used his quite a bit from what my grandmother and mom told me. I put it up against my newer 110 and could definitely see the difference. I was assuming it was just the blade from the factory at the time. He couldn't of sharpened it THAT much but ya never know. I dont really know, and cant ask him since he's been gone since 1979. I just polished it up and put it in the safe in the basement for safekeeping. I dont want to use this one. It even has the blade curve (bent) he put on it from obviously prying something with it. ;)

I like your collection and really dig that box you keep your bucks in as well!

I don't think the kick on your knife has been modified. Take a look at my first photo—these are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd variations of the 5th Version 110. Your knife looks like a 3rd version. My second photo shows the Two Dots, which followed the 5th Version knives in the first photo. The Two Dots had the new sintered frame which was considerably wider (top to bottom) and the kick is larger to accommodate the wider frame.

Thanks - it's a great old Gerstner. I'm not a machinist, but the knives seem to suit it.
