My new to me BK2 arrived today! Yay! It's like brand new. I intended to keep one stock and have one to full out customize. It's so nice, now I can't decide.

Here she is, box and all...

Just a regular BK2, nothing special besides the smooth coating and stamp. Here it is with my current version...

What do you all think? Which gets the strip?

I'd strip and etch the newer version (which would be your older one) and keep the older version (your newer one - keepin up here?) as stock. You've already got some SS hardware on that one, couple that with a strip and etch and some cool scales and it will look da bizniss!

But I know you've already got in under control don't you Slice! Look forward to the results and thanks for sharing bud..

Yep, that's the one I'd do. ;)

Thanks for helping narrow it down there buddy :D

If I had a brain I'd say you read my mind! I'm leaning toward the old new one to have a reason to try my hand at chem etching. Also as you may be able to tell it has a bit of an unintentional convex. I'm about %75 right now. I'll hear out more replies and let it stew while I test my mYcarta skills this weekend. Maybe I'll have it ready for the gathering next weekend.

Haha, I know, right? Just being a smart ass, of course. I would do the stamped one personally. No etching involved. Obviously, you wouldn't have to etch the new one iffin ya didn't wanna.

I think you should make em both your own. Just do 2 different mods, that way you'll have one to match both pairs of outdoor socks

Haha, yeah I got it. Takes a smart ass to know one lol. Yeah, that's my dilemma. I don't mind giving etching a shot and the smooth looks really nice as is. Obviously I have yet to beat the snot out of it. Which finish actually holds up better? If the smooth comes off faster anyway then I'd go that route. Not only would I get to skip the etching but the stamped stands out nicely when stripped. Now I'm down to 60%...
What a great problem to be having haha

The only reason I suggested the newer version was its more common than the smooth stamped one and thought you might like to keep that stock sort of like a functional and working collectorableish item. Again etching was just suggestion.

That was my line of reasoning as well. Also, besides the 5(which i stripped) its my only stamped and smooth blade. I would like to try etching at some point and this would be one blade where I'd like to keep the markings. Meh, decisions decisions...

Here's mine.
