New to the forum. I was lucky enough, I think, to find a Legitimus on CL for not many pesos. 4#. Perhaps a homesteader? I would love to know more about it (estimated birthday, authenticity, value, etc). Markings are in three lines within a rectangle with crown, arm, and hammer on the left of the rectangle above the L. First line is COLLINS & CO. Second line is “MADE IN U.S.A.” Third line is LEGITIMUS — 4 with the 4 occupying the height of two lines below CO in the top line. U.S.A. is also stamped on the other side of the axe. Thanks in advance.

Not a Homestead but a Legitimus. Looks like a military axe, green paint and the U.S.A stamp.
