I got these in from a fellow forum member this week and thought I'd share some pics. 2 Collins 1 1/4 pound hatchets and a small Collins Double Bit.

Cover for the one on the left that I made. This one is going to my dad for Father's Day.

Here is a closeup of the double Bit:

It is stamped Collins on the head and haft and appears to be unused/unsharpened. If anybody has any info on this one, please let me know.

thanks for looking

The little double bit is a saddle axe that appears to be in perfect condition. Saddle axes are sought after and that one is as nice as I've seen. Does it have a sheath?

Thanks guys, No, it does not have a sheath. I'll probably make a sheath if i decide to use it. Right now I'm torn between sharpening it up for a user or leaving it as is and not using it.

Great lil collection there.

I really like the look of your axe sheath. Please could you post some close ups?

Nice looking saddle axe too. A real pearl that one.

Nice group. We would need to try and tell how old the saddle axe is in order to determine its value. Regardless saddle axes are a favorite of many guys because they aren't very popular and they are unusual.

Does it say COLLINS only, and is that in a box? I can't see the logo that well(sorry using phone). Is there a crown, arm and hammer by chance?

Overall nice pieces no doubt.

thanks, Operator. the saddle axe has "Collins" only stamped on one side and it is about an inch off center to the left. There is no box around "Collins" and this is the only marking on the axe head itself. On the handle, "Collins" is in blue script.

thanks again,

Ok I can see it better now on the PC. Real nice find, no doubt. If it was me, and take this leave this, up to you, I would not use it, seeing that you have a Collins head and handle - the combo is not that common in regular axes, let alone a saddle axe. It looks like it is in good shape, and we will probably never know how old it really is. Those Collins handles were used by Collins, and then post WATCo, and then also post Mann Edge. The no box around the Collins name makes me think it is somewhat newer, but I will see what I can dig up. Still a damn nice piece. Great find.
