New EDC?

Interesting piece alright. Are you thinking of getting a sheath to carry it folded or locked?

gonna make a sheath that will hold folded.
it has a liner lock.
the blade is 1/8" thick all the way til some point after it curves

It is pretty cool, but I just don't understand the purpose that kind of feature in such a large blade. You only save about 4 inches by folding it, and it still needs a sheath! Sweet blade, though :)

They came stock with a metal blade cover. They were commonly issued to pilots, IIRC, where a 4-inch savings could be important!

That thing is pretty wild. Is the hinge much concern? It looks like a weak spot to me. Great historical piece but I might be afraid to use one.

I have a case one with a wooden handle. I don't have the brass edge cover that came with it. Old man used it to cut the heads off of catfish. Nice historic piece that is not seen much around here. I prefer the fixed blade one myself. Of course, that's what I have..
