Hi guys!

Just wanted to show off a RF1 I picked up last week; it's been in my pocket ever since. This knife has the hardest lockup I've ever experienced, it's pretty amazing. Beyond the great fit and finish, grind, etc., is Daniel himself - he's a friendly, cool guy who took his time to answer my questions about the "one-off" pivot and other stuff. Daniel told me he puts 30+ hours  into each knife he makes, and the quality is obvious! I'm very pleased.

Thanks Daniel, and keep up the superb work!

VERY nice!
Daniel designed a perfect folder.
Thanks for the pix, too.

Thanks for the reply Rolf. I had a RF2 but this one fits my hand much better.
Yes, it's a heckuva knife.

I loved the RF2 design, but I think my calling is RF1. Maybe one with some bolsters if he ever decides to do something like that :)

Congrats on the score, dude. He's a hell of a friend and knifemaker. I'd certainly be proud to own it!

I've had both, and I prefer the RF1 over the RF2, there's just something about the handle shape that really appeals to me. The RF2 is certainly more pocket friendly, but for me there's a certain "cool" factor to how burly the RF1 is. Both are superb knives, though.

Hey Jracingbean, congrat's on the nice score. That RF1 looks like it rounds out your frame lock selection nicely. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thanks, I feel very fortunate to have found one for sale on the secondary market. They don't come up for sale often!
What's surprisingly nice is the absence of jimping on the knife, the handle ergonomics makes jimping superfluous, IMO.

Nice pics and nice folder, Big J. Surprised that your folder makes the Zaan look tiny...Wow! My hand could NOT handle that. Now, perhaps the smaller model... Enjoyed your thread. Have fun with that thingie.
Sonny :)
