Hello and thanks for all the info. Stumbled across this knife recently and have used your forum to learn about its history.
Thought I would share some pictures with you. No Sheath, will probably search endlessly for one. This could lead to another collecting habit.

Welcome to the forum Jim! Yep, you have a nice knife. Likely made sometime in late 1969 - 1972. Original sheaths are hard to come by for these. At least in good condition they are. I'll keep you in mind if I ever run across a source for NOS replacements. I have more of these knives that sheaths myself. This pattern was discontinued as a production item circa 1991, so few sheaths were left in the factory during the bankruptcy liquidation in 2004.

..the black sheaths with the gold DU imprint and brass stud always seem to be readily available, and there must have been hundreds left over at the Bankruptcy sale...they fit the 165OT quite well....

It depends.

Is it the correct sheath for you knife? The 165OT did not have a stone pocket on the front, with the exception of the Shikari made for Norm Thompson. Production knives did nt have deer head or duck head embosses, only special factory order knives. Does it matter to you?

What is the condition of the sheath? Is it light russett or medium brown and like new, or is it dark oiled and worn, or it it in poor condition?

Do you want it worse than anyone else who might bid on it (assumimg it is on an auction site)? You alone can decide what you are willing to pay for it. Myself, I would pay up to $40 for one in like new condition. More if it were one of the earliest designs. Even more if it were a mint Shikari sheath. For a sheath I would carry, I would accept a used but functional one at a lower price. For one in my collection, I would want the best one I could find.
