I just bought a used SIG P225 from one of the local shops. It was a German police trade in. Came with the box, two mags and police issue leather holster for $299. The shop let me inspect all the SIGs before I bought one. My gun has lots of holster wear but the inside looks great!

Check out the pics and tell me what you think. Thanks,

Heber

Heber, super nice ! IMO the best gun in the world.

Very good deal too............:D

Your going to love it.

Robbie Roberson.

Thanks Robbie, I knew you'd like it. What do you think of the condition, can you tell from the pictures? I have 150 rounds of 9mm with the P225's name on it. By the way, mine has the markings 6 / 83 on the right side of the muzzel could this be the month and year it was issued?

Can anyone tell me where I can order Factory mags for it? Thanks,

Heber

a girly caliber !!

now a Ruger P90 or P97, now that's a manly caliber !!!

Cheers,

Carl

Jelious are we? :D Your P97 is still on my list. ;) Now how we going to get you to Utah for some Range time?

Theres a shop here that has a couple german police trade ins like that for 300.00. I decided to bring in one of my handguns to get a loan on to buy one as I am short on cash and wanted to get one before they were gone. I brought in a stainless S&W 686
4in .357, Brand new, only had like 25 rds shot through it. The weasel told me he couldnt do it. Said he could never get 300 out of it if I didnt come back to get it. I was hot.....Its not like I would ever let it go for that much, and they werent already making a profit on the Sig. Not to mention the interest from the loan. I laughed right in his face, put my gun up and said no thank you. He then said I was dumb for paying what I did for it, cause he could get them all day off gun broker for 300.00. I wanted to beat the tar out of that little punk. Thats what I get for going to another gun shop instead of my regular one. Those sigs are pretty nice weapons and are a great deal. Wish I could have scooped one up , BUT I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE AS LONG AS i LIVE. I will keep my eyes peeled though.

Never get 300 from a fair new 686p what a tard man. I am glad you walked away. I would give 500 for it. I would take a Smith 686 over a sig anyday. In fact my is loaded for the night in my stand next to my mossberg 590a1. Continue to check gunbroker the sig do show up there.

P225's are excellent pistols imho, i got one LNIB when they were disco'ing them, IIRC ~$350.

That sounds like a good deal to me. And Sig has a well earned reputation, hope you have lots of fun with it:thumbup:. I am itching to get to the range again SOON with my SA XD45.

CDNN has the Sig 225 in the last catalog, very good to excellent, for $299 and like new for $339.
I like a guy there named Marshall, he was able to get me a HK P7 police trade in that looked brand new.Patrick

What is a German Police trade in?
Any rattle??
My buddy has a few Sig Sauers and some of them rattle
I always tell him I can hear him coming a mile away

Sig are nice:thumbup:
I like the way the grip feels thin

The Sig 225 may very well be one of the best pointing hand guns made. (Except for the 1911)

Yeah, I wouldve never just traded straight up for it, Thats why I wanted a loan on the smith to get the sig, and then Id just get my smith back in a couple weeks. Guy was just a gomer. I wanted one of those sigs cause of the price, I figured I could keep one in my truck, loaded, and keep my expensive handguns in the cabinet in the house.

Got back from the range about an hour ago. The P225 shoots really well. I like it more now after putting 150 rounds though it. 3 friends also shot it and liked it, I told them that they should go back to the store to buy some before the shop runs out. One said he would if they came in .45. Anyone know where We can get a good deal on a used P220? As for me I'll stick with the P225 for now. The gun is ver accurate, if I did my part I could hit cans from 12 yards or more. Shooting empty shot gun shells with it at about 10 yards wasn't to hard either. :)

My friend just picked up the same thing from some website for $250 plus shipping and FFL fees. They seem to be good guns from what I've read, but I haven't shot his yet, so I can't say firsthand.

$300 for a 686 would be a steal. I'd love for him to point me to one of them at that price. What a jackass.

Really nice Heber! I love the 220 but has anyone tried the 245? About the same overall specs of Heber's 225 here, but in .45 ACP. A gun review actually found it more accurate than the 220! At least in that one test. Get one with the SigLite night sights and you'd be set.

You got a great deal on this one Heber. Nice snag.

J, I don't know how you kept your temper. What an ahole. I paid $345 new for my SS 686 in 1983 or '84 I think it was. There's always a gun shop with a know-it-all little p&*ck like that behind the counter. He probably lives at home and moonlights at the BK drive-in window where he wows all the 17 year old girls with his vast gun knowledge. Pass the word to all your friends and shooting buddies and wait for the place to fold under the weight of its own incompetence.

I went to a shop like that once and got the same story, as the officious jerk told me that the "Blue Book" price on my Ruger Old Model 3-screw .44 Super Blackhawk was way below what I said it was. He proved it to me by pulling out a 15 year old Shooter's Bible, back when they still listed it! I went back to the car and came back with my copy of Fjestad's for that year and shut him up. He was also the one that sold me an EMF SA made by Uberti for $120 out the door, because he said it was a "cheap Italian six-shooter" LOL! I turned around and sold it for over $400. They're everywhere...

I have told all my buddies, and they dont go there anymore, unless they just wanna mess with this guy. I think it bruised his ego more getting laughed in his face, called retarded, and me leaving then getting into an argument with him. This place has the same guns theve had for years in there, and now I know why.

I did see the same sigs at a gun show yesterday, and the vendor wanted to trade me one plus cash for my smith( which I brought to find pants for), I didnt have the heart to do it. I love my smith, and would rather keep it and buy a double stack sig when I can afford it.

That's one of the most intelligent things I have seen posted on the web.
A good Smith won't let you down, and I like the older ones better than the new ones.Patrick
