I've been lurking here in this forum for a while, noting recommendations, tips and tricks for wet shaving, and have finally bit the bullet on the purchase of some vintage razors.
I just bought a 1958 Gillette TV Super Speed, a Schick Stick and a Pal adjustable for right at $40.00 on Ebay.
I'd been looking for a while, but decided to be cautious and wait for the right time, and it seems that the time is now.
The razors all appear to be in good working order and the Gillette comes with some 1958 vintage blades. I hope to work the bugs out of my shaving technique before I deploy overseas in a few months. I had watched all the males in my immediate family shave with these types of razors for years, but by the time I started shaving, the disposable craze had hit full swing, and that's what I started out with.
I just a couple of years ago started using shaving soap and brush, and I like the results a lot better than what I get with canned shave cream.
I'm looking forward to stepping back in time with my shaving experience.
