My name is Blaise. Originally from New Orleans but now live in SC. I am cooking some chicken and sausage jambalaya as I write this.

I carried Spydercos for years with the molded in clip, zero problems. Then they came out with the stupid one screw to hold the metal clip. Mine kept coming loose and gouged out the plastic around it. I emailed them and they said it was from misuse so I bought a Benchmade and a few more after that. Most were not exactly what I was looking for and I always went back to my first BM the Girptilian. So I gifted a few lightly used BMs. I just took my CWP class. I want to pocket carrry a small pistol. That will take up most of the room in my front right pocket. So I wanted a small knife to carry horozontal on my belt. I went to EMGear.net to see what they had. Great people, I met them and bought a Gerber LMF II at a gun show in Greenville SC. They carry RAT knives. The Izula looks perfect for what I am looking for. So I ordered an OD one, or should I say back ordered one. They are expecting a new shipment in the next couple weeks. I just got laid off a month ago, but when I get more funds, I am going to order a RC-4. The new DPxHEST looks great too.

Sorry for the long post.

Cliffs Notes: New to RAT and looking forward to owning a few.

Welcome aboard! You won't be disappointed and you'll never hear "that's not covered" from the RAT guys!

Welcome. Smart move getting RAT cutlery products. You will be pleased.

Betcha cant buy just one.

Welcome aboard! The Koolaid is sweet here :D

Hey Blaise, glad you found blade forums and RAT cutlery. You can't go wrong with an rc-4. It is just a great hardworking knife. To me it is the perfect compliment to my izula which has not left my pocket since I got it. I'm somehow holding off on the rc-3 and the rc-6 for now (really can't afford them right now), but I couldn't help but pre-order a SERE knife. :D Trust me once you get one, it is hard to stop. Sorry about the job situation. I wish you the best of luck in finding a new job, and may there be many more RAT's in your future.

Welcome aboard, Blaise! The RAT guys will always treat you right. My RC-3 is my go-to knife for anything I can think of, and I have an Izula on the way. After meeting the guys at SHOT and playing with their lineup there was no way around it.

You'll be addicted before you know it. I'm sure there's room at the secret compound for you. :D

Welcome aboard! You won't find a better place to be addicted to.. :) The common saying around here is "So many RATs, so little cash..." I have an RC-3 and a couple of Izula's, and plan on adding a RC-6 soon. (ok, maybe an RC-4 too).

If you get a minute, check out the fire kits too. Another really good RC investment.
