Hi guys. I have some really nice knives that I hate to part with but currently need to make some money. I have never considered this option before, but I know bladeforums well and I trust the community here. With that being said, would you guys mind giving me some advice and pointers. I see obviously that it encourages selling through PayPal services, not friends and family. On the posts I see, I see prices listed, but no option to buy the knives. If I have something for sale, do I just post it and then in private discussion agree to an amount, and once I am paid I ship the knife out?

When you post a price, are you including your expected shipping cost in it as well, or do you charge additional later on for shipping.

Basically, if somebody can just give me a rundown of how a general transaction works, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks everyone. Glad to be part of the community.

Hey Jason. Welcome to the forum brother. Great questions. Accepted price and payment is seller's descretion. Agreed upon price includes to the buyer's door. Caution should be exercised for international buyers. This is a great group of men and women, but use of good judgment and common sense will serve you wisely. Very best to you sir. Tom

Welcome. One of the mods will move this to a better forum but in the meantime.

Have to list price including shipping. It’s encouraged to use PP G&S rather than F&F to protect against fraud. I speak from experience.

This link below will take you to the exchange rules and guidelines ... it should answer lots of the questions you may have.

Or Other preferred methods of transactions....
Personal checks (cleared) U.S postal money orders....gold, silver....lead.

I've seen a variety.

Try digging into potential Buyers, to see if they are legit?

Some lock their sales posts so Only paid members can contact them through private messages....as a filter against Scammers

Posted price is to include shipping.
The seller is responsible for the knife until it reaches the seller. So we recommend that you insure the shipment. If you do, the cost of the insurance is also to be included in the posted price.

Please review the Rules for the Exchange before posting a sales thread.

We recommend the following, as BF, like many sales sites, has been attacked by 3rd part scammers:

You can find links to those under "Terms and Rules". A link to Terms and Rules is at the bottom of every page on BF.
