I have been collecting knives for a year now.I mostly have tatical knives. I would like to own a few good slipjoint knives. If you could reccomend some good quailty brands it would be appreciated as i am sure there are some i have probaly never heard of. I really the texas toothpick style.I know about case and a friend of mine has some hen and roosters.Thank you in advance for your responses.

If you like toothpicks, Case is going to give you the most variations to choose from in production knives.
If you want custom and don't mind the price or the wait, there are some members here that make outstanding knives at very reasonable prices...

You could probably spend the rest of your life collecting Cases and always want more.

Thumps up for Great Eastern Cutlery too, see this Thread about their toothpick, seems like a winning size.

Most SAKs (Victorinox and Wenger) are multi-purpose and thus are sometimes considered to be not as traditional as most slippies, but they are high quality and fairly inexpensive. Queen is also very good but a bit more pricey than Case, and many people consider them a PITA to sharpen the first time. Most of my knives are Case, as they produce a staggering variety of reasonably priced, high quality knives.

I can't help but chuckle at this line. It sounds exactly like my sentiment was. Brother let me tell you once you start playing with slippies you will redefine the phrase of "a few" :Dlol. Welcome to the fun world of traditional knives:thumbup:

EVERYTHING I read about GEC is so positive I guess I need to break down and order a couple.

Canal Street also makes a great knife, but I don't think they have a toothpick.
