Greetings. I'm pretty new to the forum and have been reading about the SOG knives. In the last month, I have purchased both the Northwest Ranger and the Field Pup. I envision their use to be hunting or woods related primarily. Got the NW Ranger first and then just had to have the little Field Pup. I like the blades a lot. Not so thrilled about the sheaths, but they are ok. Looking forward to other SOG knives in my future. Do they make other sheaths? What knife to get next?

First of all, welcome to the Forum!:D
Great choices for first SOGs: affordable and very "useable".
Other sheaths: there are plenty of sheath-makers who'd be happy to make you one!
..before Carl gets in  : Tigershark... :D It's the opposite end... big!

22-rimfire, welcome to Bladeforums, I notice you are a neighbor....:D .

Ron ask me which I would recommend, the ones you chose first are great knives, but you missed the ultimate outdoor knife in my opinion.........

OR, if you don't like the gut hook, you could look at the SEAL Revolver, same double cut bone/wood saw except has a clip blade.

Welcome !!!!

OK, I see BobbyB is way ahead of me.... and he is 100% correct: Tigershark !!!!!!!!

Cheers,

Carl

p.s. the SOG Bowie (S1) also shares my "next" choice with the Tigershark.

Thank you for the hello's. I look at the Tigershark and say.... woooo that is a big blade.... React in a similar fashion to some of the Randall Bowies. I don't have a truly BIG knife, maybe the Tigershark is in my future. The Revolver Hunter model does have some appeal.

At the moment the Tigershark and the Revolver-H are my two favorite SOGs. You can't go wrong with either one. :)
