New to Spyderco, Delica on the way with a few questions?

I finally ordered a Delica with the grey frn scales and now I'm looking at another Delica and a Endura both in brown. I handled them at a Cabela's and just loved them, I like how they feel a lot more than my Sog Twitch and Twitch II. I do have a few questions though.

1. I like the deep carry clips on my Sogs, I found some here at: (Deleted), are these good to go? They look to be the same ones made by Casey Lynch, are they the same ones?

2. Also on ebay a store has both the Spyderco knives that I want and the seller has a very good rating. Has anybody here bought knives from this seller :(Deleted) He does sell some junk knives but so does everybody online. He is located in Chicago, I learned my lesson long ago about buying stuff from sellers located overseas. I've had good luck on US soil. Still, I want to be sure.

As always, thank you for any insight and help!

I'm not sure about the pocket clip but their prices seem about right. One thing to note is they have pissed off almost 500 people in the last year.

1 - Posting links to outside vendors who do not support BF is against the rules.

2 - No, that's not Casey clips. Too expensive. Casey's on here as theoriginalspaceman

3 - It's fleabay. Even with 100% feedback, you're taking a chance.

Delica is my primary EDC. Really liking it in ZDP.

Sorry, I didn't see that. I'll remember next time. How do you contact a member? Maybe I'll just go Amazon, I just was iffy on ebay for sure. I posted this before I read a thread about a couple possible fakes. Thanks for the help!

Who are good vendors to buy from that support BF? Which ones have the best prices?

Buying a Spyderco, or any knife for that matter from eBay is bad ju ju. Simply Google Spyderco Delica for sale, and you'll find the first few pages listing reputable and authorized dealers of Spyderco knives. Average price for any Delica FRN is about $60.00 delivered.

How do you contact a member? ... Who are good vendors to buy from that support BF? Which ones have the best prices?
If you see the member's name in a post, you can just click on their name and a list of options will appear including contact info (PM, Email).
(BTW, you can edit your Profile to turn your own email contact option 'on' if you want.)
Or you can use the Search function to find their name.

All the vendors are 'good'. For the best prices, you'll need to go thru the list linked above. Some specialize and may not carry the brand you want. For Spyderco, I always check KnifeWorks, KnifeCenter, National Knives, first. I'm sure others will post their 'go -to- dealers.

Also check the Knife Exchange - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/672-The-Knife-Exchange
for daily specials from Dealers, Knifemakers, and Individuals.

Here's the link to Casey's clips - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...clips-for-Spyderco-Delica-PM2-Manix-etc-Run-3

Nice score on the Delica. But to be honest, the amazon river store is my primary go to source for all non-SAK knives.

Knifeworks and Nationalknives are both great dealers. As are many others but those are my two favorites...in that order.

Stay away from Epray........and be very wary of Amazon.

You're rolling the dice every time...... Best to go with reputable knife dealers and sites.

Enjoy the Delica....I hear its awesome.

My new Delica 4 showed up today. I already used some loctite on the clip screws, but they looked to have some already. The pivot screw got a tiny amount also. The centering was perfect and the lock up front, back, left, and right was very tight. It locks up tighter than either SOG that I own.

Here's a pic:

I ordered the Deep Carry Clip from Casey and mentioned the fakes on ebay.

I'll be getting my next Spyderco from National Knives by the way, they have stuff in stock that I can't seem to find anywhere else. Thanks again for all the help and patience guys!

No one can beat Casey's quality and customer service, and they're probably the cheapest too. One of the true good guys.

I'm a supporter of National too. The owner is a class guy. They sell on eBay too, but for much higher prices for some reason. eBay fees I guess.

Here are a few pics next to my previous EDC knives.

The Delica has a better grip when comparing shape and traction. The jimping on the spine is very nice and it's a feature that I really like. Neither of the SOGs have jimping let alone much traction overall. The lockup is better than both SOGs, even when they were new they didn't lock up as tight. The Delica 4 is actually lighter than both, the XL is heavier by 1.9 oz even though they are very close to the same size. The dimensions fall between the two, it's literally the perfect size for my needs. The Delica 4 also came much much sharper than either SOG. I can see why people get hooked on Spyderco knives! I'll probably pick another one up next week!
