What are some recomendations for knives with full flat grind made in USA? I've yet to own a spyderco, right now i'm stuck on chris reeve but spyderco is leading me astray:D I just don't want my blade to say japan or taiwan on it!

the Paramilitary
the Military
the Pkal
to name a few off the top of my head. :D
personally i really like my paramilitary.

thanks for the quick response. the para seems like a good one, what about the caly 3?

Caly 3 more dressy and slimmer. Para seems like it can handle anything. The caly 3 is a better slicer...at least mine is due to the ZDP-189. She's a laser.

get Military titanium it looks great next to my sebenza :D

Military
Para millitary
Chinook
Manix ,, all great knifes made in USA .

BTW my CF caly made in Japan

NOTHING wrong with the Taiwan or Japan knives.

If you must go USA only, then the Para I would recommend. F&F is immaculate on my Sage 1/2 from Taiwan and I have a Caly 3 CF [Japan] on the way.

If you like the look and size of the caly 3, the ukpk is very similar. It has a slightly deeper finger choil and is a slipit. I've never missed the lock on mine(although I'm used to carrying slippies) and it's more than enough for any cutting chore I would use a folder for. In fact, as long as you have your index finger in the choil the blade can't close on your fingers. It's probably the safest slipjoint ever designed.

The whole made in Japan or Taiwan vs. made in U.S.A. has been done to death. Suffice it to say that you won't find a quality difference between Spyderco knives made in any of those three countries.
