I am thinking of getting my first Striders.

I like the way the GS looks but have never handled one. Who out there has one and what do you think of the blade and how does it compare to the other full length models (handeling, tip strength etc.)?

Also I am thinking about getting the HT as well. I hear all about the AD, DB, SA but not a lot about the HT. I want a blade that I can wear IWB but I have a lot of other knives that are about the same length as the AD, DB and SA so I wanted something a bit longer. Anybody have one of these and how do you like it?

The other model I am considering is the TKa from TAD. I understand that it can come in G-10 or Micarta handels. Which material do you think would provide a better grip and any other thoughts on this model?

Your thoughts are appreciated,

S.

Get the GS and quit fretting!!! Just kidding - just think after THAT one you still have all Kinds!! of toys left to get. Especially if there is a Kerambit in the works!!
Mick are you listening???!!:)

Seriously, I have carried the DB(thanks Darryl),AD and the SA. Carried the HT on the back of my belt not IWB. Currently carry the Air Wing due to it's feel in the hand - it's VERY fast and sharp.

There's at least one for every application and a few work in multiple roles very well. Panzer uses his BT as his personal holligan tool - now that's depending on a tool. Call/write if you still have questions.

So how's Canada??? I am still waiting to get your goodies in the mail, when I have them - I'll give you a call.
Be careful out there and keep studying!!! No slacking!

Mr. Estrada, what is an Air Wing? Haven't seen that model anywhere. Can you give a 'script and a pic would be real cool too.

Thanks,

Chris

The HT is a wonderful design. I have a very unique one that I have carried a lot. The guy who designed is really did a good job with the HT (even though I am sure he will be found to be a fake, just like me :) ). I designed a really cool rig for the HT to carry it in my flightsuit to ride in the pockets down by the Rt.ankle. I also carry it in a Skunkworks custom IWB rig. As for the the GS-It could have been my first Strider. The first Strider I ever saw was a GS with a sharpened false edge and was a wicked piece. I pulled it out of the sheath and cut the piss out of my hand. I handed it to my buddy who is already missing a whole bunch of fingers and other parts and said "this ones yours", and grabbed a WB instead. I look at the GS as a pure fighter.

Nyeti,

Thanks for your feedback. I for one would never quesiton your credentials ;)

Joe Estradea, you have snail mail...

For cleaning toenails, opening boxes, breaking into your own house because you seem to have lost your keys (???) and for carving up people who want to hurt you and need to be taught otherwise, there isn't a better knife than the AD. I just jump around the forums delivering this same message, but I don't get Billy Grahamish about many products, especially knives. All Striders (and I do mean ALL) are as good as knives come. But my AD is like a family member. Gotta go now. It's time for its bath.

Hey Chris,
The Air Wing or AC in SK lingo is, at its basic, a Model EBS. Here are the differences. The Air Wing is 190,000th. thick versus the 1/4 inch of the EB series; the blade weighs about .45 lbs vs. .71 lbs of the EBS; it is a TS blade;the false edge is sharpened (very) and the knife is so very quick in the hand. This is a Concept knife for SpecOps Aviation application, aka Flat-knife project. I have sold 3 of these - 2 to a Tac Team guy in Wash. state and the other to someone on the East Coast.
I actually have 2 different versions, one version is truly spearpoint with the other (my fav - I keep turning down offers to sell) is more of a clip point. I like it because of the trapping/cutting aspects that it offers and it just feels right to me. I WILL have more of these coming to me, I spoke to Mick directly about this during seminar weekend. I will try to post some pics later.
I hope that this answers your questions...call the number on the Dealer listing if not. Sorry for not responding quicker - been busy.

Joe
