Just had my first becker arrive in the mail from Tomars and as you can see it's already managed to find a friend. You guys really are to blame. I began to look around for a new camp knife and came across both beckers and this forum. The biggest thing that made me interested in beckers was the fact that there were very few "Shelf Queens" everyone that owns these knives seems to go out there and really put them to use which is exactly what I needed a real workhorse.

I decided on the BK2 as it seemed to be a great all around knife that seemed to be able to do everything pretty well and wasn't too cumbersome to carry on my belt. Whilst looking around at the BK2 and making my decision I also came across several pics of the BK11 and thought it would make a excellent woods pair with the BK2 so I grabbed one of them too. Really liked the look of the Micarta so ordered some of them at the same time as ordering them later would have cost me a bucket loads extra in postage (I live in Australia) I will test out the BK2 with both the standard Grivory handles and the Micarta but I really prefer the feel of the micarta at the moment. Whilst only minor mods so far after seeing all the great mods done by you guys on here I can see I will most likely end up doing some myself.

Really like both these knives and neither have disappointed the only thing I dislike is the loose/floppy belt loop on the BK2 sheath (rather common sentiment from what i've seen) but the retention on the sheath is great, I really like the hedgehog scout carry sheath but given the humidity where I live leather isn't always the best option so am looking into kydex options too or might just mod the stock sheath........the possibilities....I ordered the TDI belt clip for the BK11 but actually want to get some of the TDI MOLLE straps for it to be able to attach it to some gear, haven't been able to find where to get them at all though does anyone know where I might be able to find some???

Got the impression that pics were almost mandatory around here so here's another one

Really looking forward to getting out there and breaking these things in!!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my thread

Right on man, I have a bk16, bk14 and a bk2 on the way. I'm going to pair my bk14 setup with the bk2 in some sort of fashion. Can't wait till the bk2 gets here. Here's my bk14 setup.

Welcome! And thanks for sharing.
Thats two excellent choices and the micarta is a plus for sure.
Congrats.

welcome to the forum. nice steel and micarta to boot. 2 of my favs. use them well.

Thanks for the welcome guys.....

Realised that I didn't really put up anything about myself. I live in Australia, married with a couple of kids now like spending time outdoors, head out bush hunting whenever I can fit it in around work and time with the family. I gravitated towards beckers as reliability is extremely important to me. Some of the places I go are rather isolated and last thing I need is for a bit of gear to fail when I need it most.

I'm actually organising a meet with some local guys here in a few months to go out bush for a night and run through some basic bushcraft and survival living out of your pack for a couple of days. I intend on using the Beckers to show some of the attendees that you don't always need to carry and Axe, Saw and a dozen knives and the knowing how to be effective with what you do have can save you having to carry everything except the kitchen sink (not to say life isn't easier having all that stuff obviously but when applying it to what you have to carry around on your back the benefit doesn't always offset the extra weight)

Again thanks for the warm welcome and doubt these will be the only beckers in my collection for long.

Hi Snafu308,

What a great start and I am sure your Becker collection will increase in no time.
