I've got a couple questions, I've had a Kershaw Blur for the past 2 years(its actually my second, but I lost the first) I was wondering if there is anywhere to get a new blade(i.e. getting a tanto blade instead of the drop point blade that's on it) as well as a deep carry pocket clip(I've seen the titanium ones but those cost more than I am willing to spend on a pocket clip). I am also looking for a new knife that is similar to the Blur, but up until now, I've mostly had Kershaw knives and I'd like to find a new brand to play around with.

Welcome. I am sure you are going to enjoy the feed back from this forum. I am a fixed blade person but learning a lot regards folders etc.

There are some good videos on how to sharpen a knife at the knives ship free website. Have a look. As far as other knives kinda need some info. Blade length, steel, handle material, and how$. Welcome to the forum

I personally would find something from Spyderco or Benchmade, though Spyderco will offer a much wider range of styles and pricing. I started out with a Kershaw Skyline, but after trying a few other brands, I have no intention of buying another Kershaw. They're not bad - not at all. I just found something better. IMO, of course.

If you look through the dealer sales forum you may find something you like. Otherwise some of the picture post threads are a good way to see all the different options that are out there. Because there's a lot! Good luck. :)

as I said, something similar to the Blur in size as for everything else, thats something that ill figure out when it comes to it

What it really comes down to is what your price range is. If you look at Kershawguy.com he has Blurs in upgraded steels (Elmax, CPM-S30V) and unique handles.

I've found that most new members are looking to spend $150 or less. If that is your situation, here is what I recommend:

Spyderco--FRN series (dragonfly, delica, stretch, endura, etc). Manix 2 (available in lightweight frn and regular G10). Para-military 2. Gayle Bradley, if you look hard you can find them under $150.

Zero Tolerance--0350, 0770 (aluminum scales), 0200

Kizer--Though they are made in China, they are some of the nicest and well made knives I've ever owned. Titanium handles, CPM-S35VN steel.

Kershaw--Camber, basically a Blur with a flipper.

Best of luck!

Personally I'm not a fan of Spyderco(I just don't like the way they feel) I had been looking at some Benchmade knives but I haven't found one that quite did it for me yet, as for price range its going to be a birthday present for myself, and that isn't until July so I have plenty of time to save up for almost anything, which is why I didn't address the matter of price earlier

I'm a big fan of flippers myself. Titanium doesn't do much for me, but most flippers and high end knives use it. The "grail" for those new to high end knives is usually a Strider, CRK, or Hinderer. I've owned a Strider SnG, but sold it when I needed funds. Since then, I've always found something else that draws me away from those three brands. A year ago I had over 35 folders. Now I have 11. My next knife will be a custom with specific design elements I want. That won't be until after July, as all my funds are going towards my wedding.

If you want something that is a little off the beaten path, but is still reasonable ($300 and under), I have a few recommendations for you.

Three Sisters Forge Beast--I love mine, Ti, S35VN.
Brous Blades--LNIB can be found at reasonable prices. I have the Bionic myself. Their folders have flippers and bearing pivots.
Southern Grind Bad Monkey--Premium materials (Carbon Fiber or G10 over Ti, available with or without the Emerson Wave.
Kizer--My Ki423 is currently my favorite knife in my stable. Unique Ti scale design, CPM-S35VN steel with flipper and bearing pivot
LionSteel/DPx

There are many others of course.
