New to the forum. Pics of my first hatchet restoration.

I've removed the head and it is currently soaking in vinegar. More pics to come as I get further along.
 
Just got back from the flea market. Got a Chopper 1 Axe for $5. I've been looking for one for a while.
 
It's been soaking in vinegar for the last couple days, with a couple rounds of steel wool. Planning on trying my hand at carving my own handle. I am on the lookout for a nice piece of wood. I also have a 6 week old son and I am a stay at home dad, so my time isn't always my own.
I like the idea of reclaiming/reusing old wood, so I am watching craigslist, looking for a large, old piece of wood furniture.
If I don't see anything I like in the next week or so, I might try making my own from a tree trunk/limb.
