Like I said, I'm a greenhorn, newbie, piglet, and everything else someone new can be called around here. I went to Knob Creek this year, my first time, met Garth and all the other good guys and was told to get on here to meet some good people who know good knives.

I know how ruthless the Hogs can be, by the time we got to Kentucky, most of the GW's were bought, the AD's were gone, no AK-47's, no $2200 MOABS (even though I wasn't in the market, but still), and the only BM's left were the BWM's. And most of those were sold before the show at the hotel, or so I've been told. But even though it's cut throat when it comes to knives and answers around here, I was wondering where someone like me should get started.

My pop and I are thinking about making the trek down to Atlanta in June and were told to get a hold of Amy-O and get tickets. And that's bout' all I remember, there was so much stuff that I should do I was overwhelmed and forgot. I knew people took knives seriously because I do. But this is a whole nother level and for the most part I'm lost. Any advice would be appreciated.

Heehee... first of all. Don't trust anyone on here. The hogs are known to use double, triple and (on occasion) quadruple psychology.

Your best bet was your first instinct. Call or email Amy-0. She will even give you the correct location of the venue and fill you in on everything. If I were you I'd call.

So... That being said. I must say that it is possible that I am misleading you. But knowing that you know that I may be misleading you, you must assume I am being truthful. Or perhaps, because I know that you must assume that I am being truthful, I am intentionally deceiving you. Then again...

Oh... by the way, Amy-0 may put you on her 'list' if you call to bother her (she is very busy!).. just sayin'.

Naw.. kidding... Amy-0 is the bomb! (but see above ^^^) ;)

Welcome to the madness. :D The INFI is worth it....

I am hopeful that all this has been clear as.... mud. :p

...............

I don't trust either of you and highly recommend you don't even trust yourselves at this point. Seriously.

M67, I'll help you out, don't trust anybody seriously only Jerry and Amy...well actually forget about trusting Jerry when talking about ganzaa, he has tried to fool everybody (needless to say he was trampled like so many before him, when they strayed onto the path of the hog stampede)

I'll send you an email with instructions on how to get on ganzaa. So don't worry, main thing to remember that ganza's are about having fun. Sorry guys if I spill the beans I just feel horrible for the new guys who just want a chance at the feeding frenzy. Or maybe trickery just got old, I don't know, but I feel like helping him out.

Welcome!

You should absolutely go the the Blade Show. If you enjoy knives, it will blow you away.

Amy is the manager of Customer Service for Busse Combat. She has a limited number of VIP passes, that will get you a discounted admission to the show. You can email her at amy@bussecombat.com. Or call the shop at 419-923-6471.

VIP admission to Blade opens at 12:00 noon on that Friday. We start getting in line around 8, because some stuff is gone from their table by 12:02. But the new knives get released at intervals over Friday and Saturday, so everyone has a good chance of scoring.

Since we saw very little of Jerry last year at Blade due to his schedule that I would expect it to be a spectacular weekend this year

Hahahaha. That reminded me of the test of wit between the Dread Pirate Roberts and The Sicilian in the movie Princess Bride.

M67... if it helps, you can ask me anything and get a straight answer... Usually. Welcome!

Already like it here, I have a sense of humor where I confuse the hell out of some people and for some reason they don't appreciate it.

As for not trusting people, yeah, before I joined the forum I looked around and saw that phrase many times.

As for not trusting myself, I definitely know that. I bought a DPMS 308 AR in January of 09' and did a lot to it, now I think about how many Busses I'd have if I wouldn't have gotten the rifle, all the ammo, reloading dies, etc. And I'm having trouble working on a 1911 fund because of these knives.

Anyway, thanks for all the advice and words of wisdom.
