I've been lurking on this site for quite some time and I finally decided to register. I have to say I'm extremely impressed with the talent from the craftsmen on this forum. A little about me; I've been serving in the Marine Corps for 13 years and lived everywhere from Virginia to Hawaii to Maryland to North Carolina. I call Texas home but I just purchased some land with a new home and very spacious workshop in southeast Tennessee where I will be moving to in early 2015. I've been making knives for about a year and I learn something new with each one. I joined this site to hopefully pick up some tips/advice and spread whatever little bit of knowledge and experience I can. Below are a couple of my latest knives/sheaths. Thanks for letting me be a part of the forum and the knifemaking community.

I am really digging that hammered finished on the 52100 blade. Don't see that too often, and aesthetically, it is stunning. Great looking knives all around.

Very nice! Do you make the sheaths too?

I do. Although I've recently decided to scale back on the leatherwork for a couple of reasons. (1. It allows me to focus more time on making the knife and it decreases the production time quite a bit. (2. I've decided to direct anyone looking for a sheath to a guy in San Antonio, Tx. who does good leatherwork. That allows me to turn out the knives quicker and it increases business for another craftsman. It's a Win-Win!

First off this ex-USN Corpsman wants to say, "Thank you for your service". Second, as a soon to be knife maker in my own right, YOU DO GOOD WORK!

Thanks a lot Steve but to be fair, I owe MANY thanks to your fellow Corpsmen. I've always said that Corpsmen are the greatest gift to any Marine Infantry unit and they saved my life in Afghanistan in 2005. And thank you for the kind words about my knives. It's a learning process and I try to keep on learnin'.
