I finally got a computer at home. I've been reading the Shop Talk Forum on and off the past year or so from work (Thank You!) but I didn't want to post from work.
I know some of you from the larger knife community and I feel like I have gotten to know others from reading your posts. I'm glad to be posting and I hope I can share some of what I've learned from others - Some of it I learned the hard way but I like to forget about that! Needless to say there is always more to learn.

Hey Andrew. It's about time you showed up.

I'll post a pic of a McLurkin knife.

This one won Andrew the Best New Maker award at the Southeastern Custom Knife Show in September. I was fortunate enough to snatch it up.

It has a 3 3/8" Mike Norris ladder-pattern damascus blade. The OAL is 7 1/2". The bolsters are a leaf-pattern mosaic damascus from Robert Eggerling. The handles are carbon fiber. The backspacer is O1, and the titanium liners are jeweled. If you look closely, you may see the gold inlay in the thumb stud.

The fit/finish is outstanding - especially being only Andrew's fifth folder. The action is extremely smooth, and there is no blade play. Overall it's a fantastic knife. Andrew's definitely a maker to watch.

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Welcome Andrew

Just remember we all have gone thru or are going thru a never ending learning cycle.
The more we share the challenges of knifemaking together, the less we all suffer.
Something you think is unimportant may be VERY beneficial to a new guy.
Then again everyone here picks up valuable info on a regular basis. I know I do!!
Have a great Turkey day.

Welcome Andrew!! Now, make good on your promise!! Got a tip for us??

Andrew asked if I could post this for him. It is a sneak peek at his new ad that will be running in a future issue of Knives Illustrated. I'll let him fill us in on the specs and materials. Lookin' good Andrew!

Thanks for the kind welcome. The knife Dexter posted a picture of has the following specs: Daryl Meier twist damascus blade (1095 & Nickle), Eggerling "Quilted Crossroads" bolsters, Pearl handle, gold anodized titanium liners.

Crayola I'm posting a tip of sorts on the forum right after I send this.

I just posted on your other post! I like tips and pics and if anyone promised either I make sure I get 'em! Beauty of a knife you made!
