Hi Folks,

i was doing a search on my newly aquired M9 Bayo, & found the URL to this site.

my wife & i were walking thru a Gun Show & i saw this M9 & drooled, she asked if i wanted it, i said, "no, too much money", we went on, she then excused herself to the ladies room, upon returning she handed me that knife, all i could say was WoW..!

the first knife i owned was/is a WWI era Bolo, given to me by my Great Uncle Harvey, complete with leather sheath, he was in an artillery unit in Panama 1917-18 he also gave me his canteen & mess kit, the same day my Great Aunt Viola gave me a single shot .22LR Stevens Favorite, which i still shoot.

now for the real reason i came here, & i shure hope y'll can help...
when i was in Navy Boot camp i carried a sword..., better known as a " Seamans Cutlass", it had a short (16" blade, i think ?) a curved & rounded hand guard & was blued/black, i am trying to find one to add to my wall of goodies related to my U.S.Navy service.

if any one can help me find one of those "swords"..., you will make an ol vet very happy :D

Welcome to the Bladeforums, BoloM9.:)

I think that you may be able to find out some more info on that "sword" over in the sword discussion forum. (Just scroll down the list of different forums to find it.) If not, I'm sure you can find someone here that can help you find one, sorry that I couldn't.

Good luck.:D

Hi Bolo, welcome to the forums.
I think the one you are looking for is the M1917 or M1918, Naval cutlass. It was the last one adopted, I think. ;)

thank you very much for the info guys, i done a google search & all it wanted to give me was the old jet fighter airplane the Navy once had & of course the Oldsmobile...

i just thot i'd check in here first, as i have told my boys, "if you are lookin fer fish, go towards water"

thanx for the help, i'll peruse those sites & see y'll later......
