Hey everybody, ive been bumming around here for about a day now, i love the forum. I collect knives and also use them, as i hunt and whittle and do tasks around the house. Just wondering what your nicest fixed blade is. Id have to say mine is a Puma White Stag Hunter, i have one thats older than me. I seem to be attracted to buck knives, puma, victorinox and crkt. My daily carrier would be my timberline worden large tactical. I sharpen all my knives myself and like to refurbish or restore old knives, i have a bunch. My most recent knife i just received was an opinel. Any other questions about my collection feel free to ask.

my favorite fixed blade is a 4 inch bait knife. it is the only fixed blade i have at the moment, and it is pretty good for the $5 US that i paid. i am looking into another knife now, better quality.

Is that a frost? I was just thinking. i would say that my puma white stag is at least 35 years old. I use a frost knife for fishing, its a cheap, durable knife. My schrade uncle henry is also a good knife, but i dont use it much, mainly my timberline. Favorite knives in your collection? I also have a benchmade knife with the patented spyderco hole in it, before benchmade made their own ovalized thumb hole.

I'm not much on fixed blades, but I did want to welcome you to the club.

Just wondering what your nicest fixed blade is.
Hard to say really, since I like nearly all of mine. I have fixed blades from Buck, Camillus, Schrade, customs, Grohmann, Bark River, Anza, etc. I don't have a stag Puma, but I do have one of the inexpensive Puma IP knives (Spanish) with olive wood handles, nice enough, especially for the price.

I'm also a huge fan of Opinel knives, and had one as my only carry knife for years of working and living outdoors.

OK, after some thought I've decided that this is my "nicest" fixed blade:

Yup, Welcome to the forums and I gather from your forum moniker that you're into bikes as well. Nice to meet you. Hope you enjoy your time here

Welcome Mr. 'Busa!

I myself don't currenty own any fixed blades though I have in the past. They were a bit too cumbersome for me to carry daily. BRKTs are looking good to me at the moment but I won't have the money or heart to puchase another knife after I got that CRK a while ago. :o

Thank you everyone for welcoming me. I was wondering, i looked at the number on my puma white stag hunter, # 23981, would you be able to tell me when this # of knife was made. i believe it is 35+ years old, but not for sure. it is an awesome knife i must say.

DONT THROW THE PUMA!!!!

I learned this the hard way when mine snapped about an inch above the handle when I was 14 and diddnt know what I had.

My most unique piece if not my favorite anymore is a custom Malakite(sic) and onnyx handled fantasy piece i bought ten years or so ago during my Ren Faire Days.

The Scrapper 6 I am ordering will hopefully find a place in my heart.

PS. Welcome to the forum

Suzukigsx1300r08: Welcome to BF!! My best fixed blade would be my Tom Krein TK-2, followed by my Scrap Yard Knives Scrapper 6. My EDC knives are: Small Sebbie & Matt Cucchiara Mini Scrapper "Gecko" knife.

Welcome to the forums. Here are some names that you may eventually want to look into:

Benchmade
Spyderco/Byrd
Kershaw
Fallkniven
Busse
Chris Reeve
Strider
Swamp Rat
Kabar
Scrap Yard
SOG

I own a benchmade, i like it a lot. All that ive seen from spyderco is serrated, i dont need serrated knives that much, and dont like the combo blades. Do they make straight edges knives? Ive held my uncles kershaw survival knife. I cant even describe how much i like this knife. So can anybody help me date my puma?

Spyderco makes a lot of plain edges. Many models come in plain or serrated.

I have 3 Spydies right here: Military, Adventura, and Spin -- large, medium, and small knives :) -- and they're all plain edge.

Welcome to BF.I do not have a fixed yet,but working on it.I am looking at a CRK,Dustar for a Tact. design and a Wayne Hendrix,Bark River and Dozier with more of a limited decorative handle for display.Right now I'm on a rampage with folders.Enjoy yourself here, alot of great people with sound advice!

Welcome to the forums. My nicest knife is a Helle Knife of Honour. This is the only knife I ever bought just on its looks; the triple laminated blade is a nice bonus.
