Hello, This is my first time to post pictures of my work on a forum. All knives are Carbon Steel, Hand forged and finished. I dont use jigs or the like so no two of my knives are exactly alike. The first one is a skinner with Brass bolster and Bois D'Arc wood for the scales. The second one had Deer bone for scale. and the third is a willow leaf Drop Point with Red Oak. The last picture is just to give an idea of one of the ways I check the temper.

:eek::eek::eek:

Interesting way to check temper.............:confused: What exactly does it tell you btw?

Nice knife though ;)

When the temper is right, It will pierce the coin with no damage to the blade. It tells me that I have a blade that will take and hold an edge and be tough enought to stand up to daily use (and abuse), giving the owner many years of good service.

This is a picture of my raw material. They are Carbon Steel (I dont know the exact content) about six feet in diameter by about 1/2" thick. Thay come from a saw mill that is right down the road from me. As I said, I dont know the exact carbon rating but I do know that with a lot of hammering and hard work they make excellent knives.

not bad at all :D are you cutting billets and forgeing them out? any chance you'd ship a piece of that steel? ;) always wanted to use a sawmill blade for a knife.

I appreciate everyones comments... L K if you will email me an address and tell approx. how much metal you would like to have, I will see what I can do. By the way, have an inquiry in to the company that made those blades to see just exactly what they are. If and when I get a reply will post it too. Thanks again everyone ....
