So to start off im new to the forums. I been looking for a while but just decided to make an account today.
So i have had some past gerbers and Walmart kershaws but im looking to make my first purchase. So i have like 150$ maybe a tad more, Less is always a positive thing too lol.

So i work in a kind of dressy environment. Its only a office supply store but im a salesmen so i have to wear dress pants a tucked in collared shirt and all that stuff. Looking for a decent sized one hand opening and closing folder that will sit well in my pants. Front right pocket along with my notepad and pen. I dont want it to be too obvious. I mean they dont have a strict policy on you cant have anything but some of the people there are very skiddish.

So i need.
One hand opening and closing
Not too thick or heavy in the pocket.
around 3.5 inch blade length.

Is that do-able in this price range?

Benchmade 940/941.. thin, light, tough and looks good. Choose the blade shape that works best for your needs.

You should absolutely be able to find something that works with that budget. I would recommend taking a look at the Viper Knives Keeper. It carries more discretely than any other knife I own and the model with wood handles and a polished blade makes it look more like a gentleman's knife or outdoor folder than a tactical model. It's a bit larger than what you asked and the handles are on the thick side, but it carries very nicely. On the less expensive side, the A.G. Russell large Skorpion also carries quite deeply and is very slim and light. Welcome aboard and happy hunting!

there are a ton of options around 150 or less. Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Hogue EX-01, Spyderco Gayle bradley, Benchmade 940/943, ZT 0550/0350 to name a few

Yea like i definitely don't need a tactical folder. Something that looks more interesting or classy would be better then some all black on black ninja assassin kind of thing.

Like a 3.5 inch blade is just for usability and comfort. I don't want some uncomfortable tiny thing. And i don't plan on attacking anyone. If anything my martial arts experience has taught me, avoid the situation and conflict, give them what they want its not worth a life and idk how to knife fight anyway lol.

Also i would like to add, i'm not a collector by any means and i know i never will be. I don't collect i like to use. Im not saying this will be my only purchase, although at 150 bucks it'll probably be the only one for a while, but whatever i buy will definitely be used frequently.

If you want something more on the classy side but still rugged enough to beat the crap out of then I highly recommend the spyderco gayle bradley. The carbon fiber laminate handle with the M4 steel is extremely well done, its probably the smoothest knife I own.

Benchmades have gone up in price because the 940/943 would be great.

Spyderco Gayle Bradley is great but it'll weigh (5.3 oz.) down your dress pants.

Try Spyderco Caly 3.5 with either VG10/G10 or ZDP-189/CF (3.1 oz.). It has a real thin and narrow profile compared to many Spydercos.
