Hi everybody,

My name is Clint and I am fairly new to BladeForums. I have been checking out different threads on this forum for the past few weeks and really do enjoy the stories, reviews and advice being passed around. To start, I just got into folding knives about a month ago, and in that time have acquired about 6 different knives that I have really enjoyed carrying. I have a few spydercos, a few spyderco byrds, a few SOGs, a Sanrenmu and a Kershaw. I do not think I will every get into the SERIOUS knife collecting like I have seen many guys do, spending hundreds of dollars on individual knives (at least I hope not, I'll go broke!) I am not knocking the expensive collectors, I'm just saying that it is not really for me.

I like the smaller folding knives that I can carry, can use and not have to worry if they get scratched or lost. I do carry a knife for protection, but I use it primarily as a tool for day-to-day urban needs (boxes, mail, ect...) I would definitely say that right now I go for more of the high value (lots of knife for the price) folders, since I think I have yet to spend more than $30 on a knife. But, I do have a nice variety to rotate through for my EDC. This knife bug is quite addicting. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself. Thanks again for the many threads you all have started, I enjoy reading them and seeing what everyone has in their collections.

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

Welcome Clint! I'll believe that you don't want a $100+ dollar knife when I see it though. I thought the same when I got started on here. Now there aren't that many knives in my collection that aren't worth more than $100, and most of the less expensive ones don't get any use. Good luck avoiding the disease! Then you discover customs and you're well and truly sunk...

Howdy Clint! Welcome to the Forums!

Famous last words... ;)

Thanks for the greeting everyone! Sold a few knives, bought a few more. Great hobby. Still staying away from the $100+ models, have to save the money for other expenses life brings (grad school, girlfriend, food...)

Welcome to Bladeforums, but please don't post again till you own some real knives.
