Well I am new to the forums. Just got done looking around and I have found some helpful opinions, and interesting reviews. Good Job.

i discovered this forum a couple of months ago and have learned an amazing amount about knives, their construction, grinds, sharpening, care, uses, and so on. the opinions of forum members on specific knives that interest you is an invaluable source of expert knowledge and real experience. i visit this site everyday and feel like i am becoming part of a friendly supportive community.
only potential "downside" ?, your pocketbook ! i have purchased 15 knives since joining, some for myself, others as gifts for my children and friends. in general, i have made pretty good choices thanks to information and advice received here.

Don't buy anything for a while. You'll buy X and a week later, you'll think "Dammit, I shoulda bought Y instead of X, but I'm gonna keep X and buy Y anyway, and, come to think of it, Z is really cool looking even though I don't need it..."

Enjoy the ride for a while and let it all sink in.
