New to the list

Duane, Mick

I'm not much of a cyber kinda' guy (go figure) but after seeing Vinnie Palucci posted here i thought maybe i better get with the program.

Don't have much to add here. Just back from one place, off to another, and another after that, but i do have the privelege of working with some of the absolute best Warriors in the world, and a fair number are carrying your knives.
Gee, what a suprise!

Hey Pat,
Now that I don't have all of my buds to hang out with I try and keep in touch with them as best I can. I talked to Bob the other day Via e-mail. Sure wish we could get you two out this way. Hey if you could keep me up to date on your books and articles. I like reading your stuff.

Vinnie- I just finished with your old Plt.-they are looking real good.
The Accurate Rifle has a series on the Company. Jan01 had Pt 1. Feb had Pt 2. April has Pt 3 (Section 1) This has to do w/ guns and other esoteric "stuff", including some mention of Strider knives- which has put me on their Rat Boy list. (I'll let them explain it!)
Did the CQB course w/ 2plt earlier.
I'm not 25 anymore.

I'd like to get out your way too!

Pat,
Just wanted to drop a line to say great job on the Accurate Rifle series of articles - I had to call David B. (editor) and get a heads up about when the next installment was due...May 10th and with a good portion of the mag devoted to your series.
Great job guy! Looking forward to more!
Stay Safe,
Joe

Joe,

Thanks! I'm glad that someone is reading the articles.
There should be a substantial mention of the Strider Knives in the next installment, but more importantly, the quality of the guys that make up Strider knives and the esteem in which we (Force Recon) hold them.

Mr. Pat,
I spoke with your amigo from NYPD again today and we are scheduling some business. Very nice guy and we will help him all we can. Thanks for all the kind words of reference. Also, had fun at "range night" a few nights back and met a few more friends of yours that you had mentioned for me to speak to. Fog rolled in heavy and didn't get to get rounds downrange w/new gear, but at least got to check it out. Very Impressive, as you said! Leave it to the King of acquasition himself to find such gear! Remind me to give you details on his conversation with some of the more "civilianized" O-grades within the crowd! I personally enjoyed every word.
Now, about TREXPO in Aug. You have plenty of notice, tell G.W., the feds, and the foreign paycheck writers you have that you're busy that week conducting a study of the consistancy of cost, color and coldness of Irelands best known export in the Nortern Virginia area while under the protective services of Mr.'s Palucci, Grey, and yes ... me, therefore all sheduled services will resume shortly after this formal study has concluded.
PS, due to the recent frequency of your playing the "not 25 any more" card, this Northern Virginia study will commence at an earlier hour to suit your needs.
All the best,
S/F
Duane

BITE ME!

OK, so everything hurts and the rack monster beckons earlier- so what???

Too bad about the fog. I'll be in your AO in May- you are welcome at 130 at anytime.

Sched is (so far) clear for Trexpo- looking forward to it!

Any words you wamt passed to W?

Hey Guys,
Received a number of inquiries re articles in TAR.
The story in question is a multiple part one on 1st Force Recon "Strong Men Armed".
Pt 1 was Jan 01, Part 2 Feb 02, Part 3 (1) April 01, and the remainder when the editor finds room.
The 1st 2 Parts are on the Force recon website (Forcerecon.org) go to History.
Part 3 isn't up yet.
Thanks!

Pat,
Pardon me for not being in the loop, but have you had books published on this or similar subject matter?? If so, I would appreciate a heads-up and a source for such material. If not, why not??
Thanks Again & Stay Safe,
Joe

Joe,
Thanks for asking!
No books on the Company. I have a Tac carbine book aboult half finished, and if i could get 3 more hours in a day, i might be able to complete it.

It's funny- i thought that when i retired, i would live the life of the idle gentry.

Ha! Not so.

I am backed up 3 articles, 2 AAR's, and one rebuttal to stupidity in the military.

Maybe one day...

Pat,
Re: Tac carbine book...I have the K-grip attachment for my Stoner's as shown in one of TAR's installments..I elect not to keep it there for reasons (my own)of possibly hanging it up on an object and allowing me to do something stupid! I seem to be ok with hanging on to the RIS/RAS handguards. Question is does your experience support the use of the device or is this simply a matter of comfort/training?...not that training was ever comfortable. Your thoughts..
Stay Safe,
Joe

I admit I am way, WAY out of the loop, but where can I find 'The Accurate Rifle'? I have never seen it...

Oops- K-grip?? I'm at a loss here. Do you mean the Knights Vertical Fore Grip???
If so, no propbems with it hanging up on anything. It gives significantly More control
in CQB/ CRE, as the "support" hand doesn't support- it pulls back into the shoulder with the strong hand.
Absent that we preach heresy and tell people to hang on to the mag/ mag well, and ignore the urban legends about that causing malfunctions.

Scott,
It is a subscription only mag; hit the web site or contact them at 860 643 8215.
Dave Brennan is the editor.

Scott 475,
The Accurate Rifle used to be Tactical Rifle, the company is also the publisher of Precision Shooting magazine. 860.645.8776 (v) OR precisionshooting.com! Hope this helps!
Stay Safe,
Joe

Pat,
Sorry for the confusion...yes sir, I was remarking about the Vertical Fore Grip, I locked into HK lingo there! Must be the DIET coke...whoops, Coke! Your statement is clear and concise...thanks so much.
Stay Safe,
Joe
