New to the Mule Team

They are lots of fun. You can buy various scales for them, or do it yourself. I've made 2 sets of wooden scales and 1 set of micarta, and I've bought several sets of G10 scales. You can also buy custom sheaths but I have the gear to make my own kydex sheaths, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

They sure are a lot of fun and a great learning opportunity. Through the years I’ve meet leather workers, wood sellers, learned about adhesives and made a bunch of mistakes. But that’s how you learn and appreciate all the fine makers.

I have a SPY27 that I picked off of eBay and added the spyderco scales and kydex sheath. It's been my landscaping knife lately and performing very well. The kydex sheath allows me to clip it to my pocket so it's a great workhorse.

Be careful about joining the Mule train. With so many steel choices available, it could become addictive.

I've got 3 - LC200N, 20CV and S45VN.

I would collect more but the idea of paying 3-5x's or more for blades that only cost $50 puts me off doing that.

I "only" paid around $125 each for the ones that I own and that's all I'll spend on any others, which currently limits my choice of Mules for consideration on EB to ZERO!.

LOL! ;)
